He's a lesson for you all -

Don't run up stairs like a mad idiot with badly fitting slippers on!

I did today, tripped forward, and effectively punched one of the stairs. Cue an instant lump on the back of my hand, and a serious pain. Quick trip to A&E and 3 X-rays later, yep I have a broken hand - I managed to fracture the neck of the 5th metacarpal. It doesn't need surgery (fortunately), but now i've got the 4th and 5th fingers splinted together, and a 6 week healing time.

This was typed with my left hand, and 1 finger on my right, so my posting is going to be seriously reduced until I can move my hand a bit better. As a result any posts that I do make, may be curt and to the point so as to avoid too much typing. If they are, I'm not being rude, just hampered!

This is precisely why I never wear slippers. :poke:

(typed by a fella wearing a wrap on his left elbow from a pinched/torn/streched nerve I've never before heard of. Being left handed and unable to us my left arm, every litttle task is as if performed in a mirror.)

So heal up, and do check out the package insert from that poorly designed and unreasonably dangerous footwear. Could be a good failure to warn case. :nana:

Thanks guys.

@Sharkmouth - no stellas or other alcoholic drinks were involved. If they were it might not have hurt so much!

@Alan - I'm sure I can hold a pint in my left hand. It's just driving that i cant do very well at the mo!
