Can't believe how out of control it is getting and the speed at which it's spreading across the Capital. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... ds-newsxml I don't get why the police just doesn't start using the water canons or tear gas, they need to start taking control. NOW! Those chavs that are destroying homes and local independent shops are just pathetic. All this destruction and violence because the police shot and killed an armed suspected drug dealer gang banger. Where's the PM when you need him??! With the Tories in charge, we've gone right back to the 80s... Economy dipping into a recession and summer riots! ![]() |

As appalling and disgraceful as it is, it pains me to say that nothing like this surprises me anymore in this dump of a country. Too many chavs and people that can only be described as complete scum are here these days, and they've been allowed to get away with far too much for far too long due to pathetic touchy-feely policies from both social services and the police. This place is a total soft-touch to undesirables, and look where it's got us. The people doing this are the lowest form of life : they're a waste of oxygen. They've clearly never worked for anything in their lives or else they'd have some comprehension of what the poor victims are going through seeing their hard earned properties and businesses going up in smoke. I wonder how these idiots would feel if someone torched their local dole office and they suddenly didn't get their giros paid out next week. Tear gas and water cannons to start with, and if that fails, send in the army with rubber bullets I say. |

Most recent part of London to kick off is Clapham, and reports say there is not one police in sight and 200+ people just looting all the shops. Think the PM needs to authorise the use of proportionate force against these thugs. The sad thing is, us hard-working law-abiding citizens will end up paying for all this destruction and looting that the chavs are causing. A sad sight. |

Must say I'm watching this develop with at least some feelings of disbelief. D8, I understand what you're saying, and have heard those sentiments expressed before, I'm just astounded at the scale of it. |

Its time to send in the military, as policeforces seem to be unable to end the riots. |

This really gets me mad. The Police won't do or can't do any thing but can catch people automatically that travel 5 mph over the speed limit on their commute to work etc. The police should take control now. For the police to stand back and watch while youths or adults try to rock a van over only to set it alight is a gross insult to the genuine lawabiding population. I believe that real or live rounds should be used but of course you'll have the human right groups out in their full glory. I say riot, break windows, start fires but run the risk of getting shot, dead been a bonus for the genuine UK population. What will be the cost of tracking down this scum, charging them only to give them suspended or short sentences, if any at all only to have them out laughing at the great time that they had while in custody. The whole justice system is a mess and a joke. prison, IMO, should be a deterrent not a rehabilitation because as it is, it is clearly not working. As for the guy shot dead in the car which sparked all this off, HE HAD A GUN, enough said, no need for a inquiry the will cost more money. |

It's much safer and much more profitable. That's what police is for: to never be at the right place at the right time. And when they are, to be unable to act (or react). |
