It's a Ekranoplan. There was a tv program about it a few years ago. I think it was called something like the "Caspian sea monster" or similar.

It's successor, the "Lun", is stored at Kaspiysk on the Caspian Sea. Use Google Maps and you can clearly see it in the harbour.

It what is called a Wing in Ground Effect (WIG) vessel. Faster than a ship because it travels out of the water. It can carry a bigger load than an airplane as it only flies within the ground effect giving it a greater lift capacity than if it floew out of the ground effect.

Top comment on YouTube pretty much sums it up: "That thing looks like a water batmobile." LOL.

But yeah, not surprised the Russians made something cool like this. Their experimental vehicles, especially in the Soviet era, were pretty neat.
