Nice, I sold mine a few years back.
Interesting to see what the Doc has, something tells me it will be the creme de la creme

Nah, I run the telly through a naim audio pre/power amp in stereo and a pair of linn speakers...too many kids to warrant expensive home theatre.

spend more time listening in the car these days (nice Harman Kardon Logic 7 system in there)

Good thread!!

Mine is a somewhat basic system now, thinking of upgrading to better audio soon...

Display1: Panasonic HD LCD projector on a 120 inch gray screen.
Display2: Panasonic Vierra 50 inch plasma TV.
A/V reciever: JVC upscaling audio video receiver (7.1 @ 150 each)
DVD Player: Oppo SACD/DVD player.
Speakers: 7 Bose satellites
Sub-Woffer: Bose three way sub.
Sat Box: Humax HD reciever.
Game Console: PlaySatation 3, Xbox 360.

I also use my iMac to stream media directely to the PS3, if you dont have a small computer hooked up to your system I recomend this option as the PS3 acts as a video/audio UPconverter with the latest firmware. Too cool!!!

Altair,

Can you see the tv through all the Cuban cigar smoke  :?: I can barely see mine through all my smoke haha. I am hooked on those new Hoyo Regalos limited ed(have you had any of them yet?). I just got a 58 in Samsung plasma and man what an awesome tv. I am lost when it comes to surround sound systems so I am going to have to do some homework. I have 4 other LCD tv's and the plasmas are actually better much to my surprise. I was an LCD freak before I bought my Sammy 58. I still love the Sharp Aquos tv's though. I have an older 45 Aquos and a 37 LCD that cost more 3 years ago then I just paid for my 58 1080p plasma :x

HA! I actually installed a fan in my den at the request of family members   Does a good enough job.

I like those Regalos. Great cigars!!! But currentely I am hooked on this damn 50 stick cabinet of Hoyo Epicure 2's from 98. Smokey, sweet , nutty and chocolately. Like smoking an effin snickers bar. Too good to smoke anything else, make the 07 Cohiba Robusto's look like Marbolos :?

Good idea  I am sorry to say I have not had any of those Epicures(especially from 98) . I am always hearing about them though. I am going to get a box and try them out and if they are anything like the Regalos then I will be hooked 8)

This is intresting Altair, now i wanna ask you about the Humax HD and the oppo.

for the Humax HD i have seen lots of contradicting review this is why i hesitated to get it, plus is there lots of HD brodcasting in the middle east?

Oppo, mmm, all the reviews are praising it, what can you add to that based on the fact that you have experienced with it for a while?

cheers :)

The Oppo is fantastic, had it for a year and would buy it again in a heartbeat. Best DVD player out there that I have seen.

The Humax is.....ok. The picture is great for regular TV and absolutely fantastic for HD stuff, I had Orbit satellites HD channels and they looked fantastic. All in all I would wait on that purchase until they get more HD broadcasting up and running.

My home theatre has some lovely red velvet curtains and an orchestra pit in the front. Many's the time I've trod the boards saying "To be or not to be"......

(Sorry guys... couldn't resist! :) )
