Wish you sunny weather guys.

I think the show was canceled a couple years back not because the rain posed a problem to the aircraft but attendees were unable to use the parking lots provided because they had turned into a quagmire. :shock:

Didn't realise you could camp, will look it to that.
What's the deal with drinks in the breitling enclosure? Are the payable or complimentary?

Waddington is much more of low key affair than Fairford. Probably about 25% of the number of aircraft and attendees. Gates open at 08:00 and you can drive straight in at that time. You park on the airfield so, if you get lucky, you can find yourself in a spot overlooking the display line. With Waddington being home to the UK ELINT aircraft (spy planes), they have had some interesting visitors from their counterparts in other air forces in the past but nothing is slated for this year. The usual UK/NATO Typhoon/F-16/F-18 will display as well as the BoB Memorial Flight (Spit/Lanc/Hurricane), Vulcan, and the Red Arrows. The "highlight" this year is the USAF display team, the Thunderbirds. Personally, I don't enjoy watching them as whilst their precision flying is unquestionably brilliant, the 4 ship tends to disappear whilst changing formation then roll in for a fly by. Contrast this with the Reds, Pat de Frog and Frecce Tricies who keep the action in front of the crowd the whole time. Just my opinion and I'm sure many will love their flying style.

The biggest drawback is getting out when everyone tries to leave at the same time. I usually leave when the Red Arrows start to display to beat the rush.

) last chance to see the Nimrods for the last time as well as the Sentinel before they retire the latter for good.

Camping at Fairford on the Friday and Saturday nights, taking in the airshow on the Saturday. Really looking forward to it as it it is my first time. Can't wait to see what is on display. Oh, and the aircraft should be ok as well I suppose.

If I remember correctly, you get 2 tokens for alcoholic drinks and then pay for any more. Soft drinks/tea/coffee are complimentary. Biggest plus to the enclosure is no queue for the loos!

I'd have been there but my band is taking part in the local festival on the Saturday and I won't be in any fit state to drive over on Sunday morning!
