I've owned an M3... LOVE EM! However, vs. a bike????? No match to any car! :poke:

I Would also like to see the race done again in the dry btw. Looks like the guy was fighting the M3 all the way around.

an M3 never had a chance against a 1000rr. As a former motorcycle racer, I know the capabilities of that bike...way more than the car. The key is whether the rider can ride the bike to it's potential to beat the car.

If the bike beat it on a wet track, it would slay it on a dry track.

Better still let's see an F1 car against. Moto GP bike both top of there fields and bespoke. How much head start would the bike need to beat the car. :twisted:

I know nothing about the bike but I would presume it is a true super bike, M3 not been a super car. Therefore I would like to see the outcome with a bike the would be equal to the M3 in the bike would. I Would also like to see the race done again in the dry btw. I'll take the car over the bike every day of the week and twice on Sundays in the wet. Race wouldn't have been anywhere near as close on a dry track because the bike would have been able to hold much more speed in the bends and get the power down harder and earlier.

Wow thought the car would have held up better in the dry, later braking, grip and carry more speed in the bends. How unequal are the bike and the car btw.

I haven't seen the video but it's not really a fair race. What are the power to weight ratios? I'm sure the bike has way more. Cars tend to be faster in the corners due to the much greater grip as they have way more rubber down. Put two similar bhp per ton ones together and let see what happens. The car would win. Let say a aerial atom V8 or Catherhan R500 that would be much more even. Better still let's see an F1 car against. Moto GP bike both top of there fields and bespoke. How much head start would the bike need to beat the car. I think the only thing faster would be a forum member on the way to pick up his new watch

I saw an interview ages ago with Valentino Rossi and Michael Schumacher after they both drove each other's machines - not against each other incidentally - and they both agreed that the F1 car would absolutely murder the bike. Almost identical acceleration, but the car gets the power down more efficiently, plus the cars better aerodynamics and ground effect meant that it could hold infinitely more speed into the corners. No contest.

I say total BS, I ride a bike and they are much faster than 90% of road cars BUT not on a wet track. No way can that bike get around that track quicker than a car in the wet and it was soaking not just damp - not a chance, I have gone many places in the wet and 4 wheels always beats 2 and there are loads of other car vs bikes videos that come to the same conclusion. In the dry yes it would have been over in a few laps as the bike can get the power down, but in the wet no way could he use the power of the RR. the F1 part, the F1 car would win over a moto gp bike as they can just corner so much faster and have less braking distances. On a side note those BMW's are mighty fast, was following on last summer and he was shifting quicker than I have seen any other bike do before not sure they are worth the £15k+ for a decent one mind.

Well, no matter which one is truly faster bmw has us talking about a bmw bike and a bmw m3. Job well done i'd say. BTW power to weigth of bike 1055 per/tonne and the car, standard M3, 273 per/tonne.
