I used to collect pens / pencils / drawing instruments. I havent bothered for years, but recently caught the bug again. I started looking for a decent self propelling pencil, and found these....

I ended up with the pencil and matching rollerball in platinum with ebony shaft. They are actually rather gorgeous...beautifully made, and rather different to the usual rounded blobby styles of today. Almost antique in look, very heavy and substantial.

I have a Mont Blanc Starwalker but that's it. I like to have a nice pen, but it's not a real passion for me.... unlike watches!

I bet there are a few guys on here who are into them though as often watches and pens seem to go hand in hand.

I use a fountain pen evry day in my job

its one of a matching pair that Mrs Diesel and I got one anniversary

Its a 75 years of passion and soul limited edition Mont Blanc Meisterstuck No 149 if that means anything to anybody

I don't know much about it but it has 75 yrs of passion & Soul engraved around the gold gap band and a diamond set into the 'o' of passion

It came with a CD of classical music

does any 'pen' fan know much about it??

my wifes is the matching ladies model (though hers being smaller takes ink cartridges rather than fills from a bottle like mine)

Ewen,

Lingman is a pen freak. He has a bunch of Dupont pens and a pen box with them all laid out on his desk. Chat with him about pens.

I own a Starwalker, and an older MontBlanc. I love the way it writes....Very comfortable in the hand. I always wanted to own a Jorg Hysek pen though....Carbon Fiber! It seems Hysek is now more into timepieces though.

writing instruments are an adiction as well :)

- Mont Blanc Starwalker (refill) (black resin on SS)
- Mont Blanc Homage's Edition, AJ Pierpont Morgan (refill) (resin on SS)
- Caran D'Ache Fountain (black resin on gold)
- Cross fountain (All SS)

we must be having common genes that make us fall for the same set of things :D enjoy :)

Hey Doc (or anybody else for that matter), do you have problem with your fountain pens? does it feel that writing is sometimes not smooth? or dependent on writing surface? is it a pen holding problem? or ink problem? or maybe i am the problem :D ?

My pens are very ink-sensitive, even colour....Mont Blanc ink in Black is by far the smoothest , even in my shaeffer and parker pens,

Parker quink is crap and the wacky coloured mont-blancs are nothing like as good as black

make sure it is proper MB ink as believe it or not, there is a lot of counterfeiting going on in the pen industry as well, a bottle of black original is only around £5 and comes in a nice shoe-shaped bottle!
