I'm trying to do a search to read posts about the B-2 (thinking of maybe looking for another one), and the search function keeps telling me that there are no posts (B-2) or the word is too common (B2)...

Is there a way to do this search that I don't know about??? :?:

1) Use the Google search (bypasses the forum search restrictions)

2) Filter the search to a specific forum (reduced number of returns and therefore likelihood of the 'too common' error)

3) Filter the search to topic titles (same outcome as 2)

Excellent tip Roff - I was trying to search for a member's posts, but he had a very short name, and I couldn't find anything. Didn't even notice the 'google search' option..

Cheers
Mike

You can find all posts by a member by clicking on their username to bring up their profile and then 'search users posts'. If you can't find a first post to click on their username then click on Members (next to the Search) and then 'Find a Member' at the top right of the table of members.

How do you filter google to a specific forum? Remember, I'm the guy who had a difficult time with PMing so be patient. :)

If you look at the url of the forum, you'll see the id, 'f=10' or whatever the forum you're looking at. Then add inurl:f=10 to your query.

And if you want all forum categories use phpBB2 instead of f=10
