What will Ebay and Paypal charge me when selling an item for £2600!

I've never sold anything of Ebay just bought so I can't find this info.

Cheers

Not sure what ebay will charge, but paypal will take about 3% from you.

Ebay uk will rob you of 10% of the final value up to a maximum of £40.00. Paypal is 2.9 % + £0.20

Cheers guyz.

One more question, When the buyer pays buy Paypal and the money is in my Paypal account should I then post the watch out or should I wait until the money is transferred into my bank account before doing that.

For security, wait until the money is out of Paypal and in your account - that way Paypal can't just grab the money back if the buyer disputes.

From my experience PP hold the money for 21days to ensure the buyer is happy with the item, seems unfair but great if you are the buyer. I feel its a bit unfair on the seller because it leaves it wide out for the buyer to change their mind for what ever reason. I had it happen me once. If the buyer leaves positive feedback on eBay I think the money is released. Don't know if I was buying any thing and had to wait 21 days before it was even posted I would not be happy and I probably would not go for it even if I was informed of it. If you do make sure you inform the buyer and they are happy with the arrangement.

yeah, wait, i used to be an ebay power seller, move the money before you ship it, but for the buyers comfort maybe give him
your number or something and call him. I used to do that on big ticket items, I hate paypal though

Cheers for the info guyz!

I've spoken personally with the buyer and told them on the phone and by e-mail that I will not send the watch until the money is in my account. I didn't realise Paypal holds your money for 21 days  . I may have to just take the chance and send the watch. I think it takes a couple of days for the money to get transfered from your paypal account to your bank account.

The guy seems genuine enough over the phone and he's also got 100% feedback on around 150 items so no alarm bells ringing. He's also sold/selling 3 genuine Breitlings on Ebay.

It usually takes 2-3 days for the money to transfer to my bank account. Im not sure if it makes a difference though. Cant paypal just debit your bank account since its linked to your paypal account?

I don't think that they can directly grab money from your bank account without your permission (short of legal order).
