I along with two of my sons picked up the apple Ipad and I must say I love it! Yes you still need a laptop for somethings but for quick surfing on the web and emails and apps its fantastic. And the size is perfect for taking it anywhere. Let me know what you guys think of it if you puchased one.

My wife pre-ordered one for delivery last Saturday. She has lovingly carted it with her to work every day since then. I must say, I am pretty impressed with it. I have a gen1 iPod Touch, which I love, and this is waaaay faster.

My mother and aunt also went to the Apple Store last Saturday and saw a demo of the iPad. My aunt thought it was so cool she bought one on the spot. She was so in love with it, she went out and got an iPhone a few days later to replace her 3-year-old cellphone that was starting to die on her.

I already have a MacBook Pro (which I am on right now), and am going to get an iPhone when the 4G comes out, so I probably don't need an iPad, too. :)

Apple products and I had a very very bad relationship throughout the 80s and 90s, but I have to say that for the last 2 years, they have really been putting out great stuff (finally!).

Still waiting on UK release. I thought I didn't want one, but the nearer we get to having them, the more I think I DO want one.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'd want one for. I have an iPhone and a MacBook Pro, and I tend to carry both with me everywhere because I need the VPN on the laptop to access work stuff for emergencies. I doubt the iPad could to the VPN stuff(and I doubt our security people would let me).

Check out iTeleport. It's not dirt cheap, but it says it does VPN. There are several iPhone apps that do VPN, too, (so they claim...I haven't used any of them) but I don't think they yet work on the iPad.

I think it's just as useless as the iphone. I prefer my laptop instead.

Yup got one the day they where released in Boston, amazing thing! I love the form factor, great for surfing and reading. The design frees you in a way a laptop cant and a phone is just not powerful enough.

I would, but our security people would hunt me down and kill me.

:huh Personally I think the iPhone is one of the all time great gadgets. With the exception of the lack of flash on the camera I just can't fault it.

Still not sure what I'd do with an iPad though. That said, I've had chance to mess about with one yet, so no doubt when I do, I'll instantly want one. That's the kind of prat I am at times!

I so far love it. Ya its missing a few things but for surfing the web and other fun things you can't beat it. We our going out of town soon and it will be great having it and not dragging the laptop. For the price I really love everything about it so far.

Played with one at work today. I still can't find the use case for it for me. I love my iPhone, but the iPad just doesn't solve a problem I have. And I wanted a reason to get one!

Thinking of picking one up later this summer. Seems like it would be great for accessing Breitling Source, stock quotes, etc. I don't use and need all the computing power of my laptop now, so the portability of the iPad interests me. If only the watches we chase would be as affordable, LOL!

I'm struggling with what the Ipad essentially "is". :poke:

Are we looking at the start of the touchscreen laptop here?

In a way yes, I think we are heading in that direction.
