I am by no means a computer wiz but I can hold my own...but I can't seem to download the Breitling World Clock. It will go through the process of downloading the 6mb file but when it's finished, nothing shown up on my computer. Am I overlooking something simple or may I have another problem? I can and have downloaded anything I've wanted to except this.

Thanks

The file is a zip file. I remember when I used Norton AV it used to change the file extension as a protection measure.

Be sure to note where your browser is downloading to and look in that folder for bwt.zip

If it's called bwt.xyz, change the extension. You may have to change your view preferences to see the file extensions.

Unzip using WinZip, 7zip or similar.

If you're still having problems, PM me with your email and I'll send it to you.

Hi Sharkmouth,

I faced some problems with downloading the Breitling World Time, too. Even though it works perfectly on my home computer, I cannot download it on my laptop.

The first one is on XP and the second on Windows 7 though. Does that change the problem? Maybe BWT is not Windows 7 compatible yet. The downloading starts normally but then I get en error message saying that it encountered a problem with downloading a .pll file. I can get you the complete name of the file should you need it.

Thanks.

A thought struck me - where are you downloading from? If it's from this site, it's an older version. I downloaded the one on the Breitling site and it installed fine for me on W7. Had an installation error but clicked ignore and it seems to run fine.

If you have any problems downloading from Breitling, I put it on my own web space.

You should be downloading a .zip file. Never heard of a .pll.

Sorry, I meant .dll.

The message of error I get is the following: "An error occurred while registering the file C:\Windows\System32\shdocvw.dll". If I hit ignore, I get the message: "Installation completed successfully" but when I open BWT it doesn't work. :idontgetit:

Please help :whiner:

And, yes, I do download it from Breitling's site.

Only thought I have is that your anti-virus/firewall might need to give the program permission to run.

Otherwise, no idea. Sorry guys.

The .dll wil not be registered unless you are installing it as an administrator. Try right clicking on the file and select run as administrator. That should write the .dll information to the registry.

Sorry guys, I tried everything but it still does not work. Maybe I should start my laptop as admin.

As I said, it went smoothly on my home computer though!!

Is this an atomic clock good for checking the accuracy of my watches?

No, it just shows your computer's time but you can set about 6 different locations and it calculates local time.
