Ok lads I'm looking to book a holiday to Greece shortly, in particular a small town called Lindos. Does anyone have any experiences of Greece or any reccomendations?

Cheers

There is a thread wHere I tell you about this guy he is awsome and I cannot recomend him high enough,In fact we are going back to rhodes this year just to see him hes that good.

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7975
the thing is its how you treat the customer I made friends with a AD in Rhodes Greece a few years ago he gave me a soft drink when I walked in the shop offered me the tray of watches to browse and walked away and said try them all on,he even said if you want to walk up and down the street bit see how it feels you can he was so trusting he bent over backwards he knew the ship I was on and knew most of the crew including my boss and the captain who all bought from him,I couldnt afford to make all the payment for the watch in one go he said no problem give me you credit card details and i will charge half this month and the rest next, OK I said I walked out of the shop with a brand new Superocean watch and felt a million dollars over that summer from april till oct we bought 4 watches and each on the same arrangment the last one a Navitimer was over 3 months as the season was coming to and end we would be back in the uk,He gave me caps drinks even one day bought us dinner and never preasured and us was so nice yes we sent a lot of buisness hs way as pax would ask where we got watches from etc and we would advise them but the deciding factor for our purchases was always him we could have bought anywhere but we chose him and many other people did the same,oh yes did i mention he charged all ships crew cost + 10%mso prices were some of the best in the med but boy did he sell a lot of watches not just lings, rolex,AP,Omega and Hublot.one day I will go back and see if he is still there

A quick look on Wiki and it seems like you may have made a good choice. My only experience of Greece is Kavos, and you are well away from that hellhole.

Enjoy!

Cheers Sav!

Looking at this for accommodation if I can get the price down a bit!

Yip, I'll be keeping away from Kavos and Valarakie I think. Although only 34 my days of lads holidays are over at the moment, holidays for me now are about taking it easy and relaxing. Went to Malta last year for a couple of weeks and never got pissed just a couple of bottles of vino with the evening meal and early to bed. Sounds boring but sitting by the pool all day reading a book(s) suits me down to the ground with a wee bit of sightseeing to go with it.

Cheers

What can I say? Greece has the best sea you can find anywhere in this galaxy and also the best meze found in selected tavernas. As for the people... well, you have to go there to better understand. Heaven on earth... if you're on vacation.
And there are so many places except Rhodos or the highly tourist areas that are worth a visit.

Hire a moped for your time there and go to little off the beaten track places, There is a beutifull butterfly sanctury and some great out the way places, Id aviod falaraki and those tourist infested 18-30 places but rhodes town is nice as well, And loads of watersports if you l;ike that sort of thing.

Yeah! Can't beat lying by the pool all day with a nice hotel and a few books for relaxation! This place was going to cost £2000 each for 14 nights incl. flights from London so that doesn't include the £500 it would probably cost to get there. Couldn't get them to budge on price so found this for nearly half the price - http://www.mitsishotels.com/Hotels/lind ... ome_99.htm

Looks really nice!

3 weeks today, barring airline strikes, volcanic ash, greek protestors and an airoplane crash I should be sunning myself in the home of the gods. Can't bloody wait summer has been crap so far weather wise!!!

Cheers

Ps Which one should I take? I have an inkling which it will be.

I'd go with the SOH. Versatile watch that you can wear with a casual outfit, a dressy outfit, or in the pool.

The SA would be a perfect contrast to the unique blue of the Greek sea  8)

Don't forget to post some pictures when you get back :)
