Anyone else seeing a significant lag over the last few days? Every time I click on anything in the forum it takes forever to load. Other sites (yahoo, google, ebay...) are loading as fast as usual. Just curious |

FWIW I haven't noticed any problems either from home or from work. |

Seems pretty snappy to me at the moment... Sorry that the speeds are not up to their usual high standards, I do pay a premium for hosting to ensure that your forum experience is quick and efficient. I'll keep an eye on this.. I know this happened several months ago, and the problem with intermittent problems is that they usually can't determine what the problem is... if its slow for you guys right now, then there is likely some sort of problem down the pipe between their server and you guys, because its quick for me. |

It's fine right now but was laggy the last 24 hours or so. No big deal. |

On the phone with them now - they are trying to determine the problem. It seems quick again, but it was slow and they said that they have recorded a few intermittent problems on our cluster. |

Has anyone else stopped getting emails when you get PMs? |

The latency issue should now be fixed. I still get emails with PM's. Did you check your settings and your spam folders? |

I've set up my hotmail account so it knows that these emails don't get sent to my junk account. It started last week. I won't get any emails adn then I'll login and have like 5 PMs. It's not a big deal but I was wondering if I'm the only one. |

This is their official response on the latency/speed issue: Details: •Date/Time: The issue was detected at approximately 3:45 PM PST Sunday 01/31/10. •Symptoms: Customers were seeing high latency and timeouts for Web resources as well as latency connecting to SMTP Services. •Impact: The issue was confined to a small portion of (gs) Grid-Service Cluster 3. Latency was mitigated by a work-around employed by (mt) Media Temple System Administrators. •Root Cause: Filtering rules in the affected nodes were improperly triggered causing the noted latency. A reset corrected the issue. •The odds of a recurrence are minimal. They did mention Latency connecting to SMTP, though I'm not sure how phpBB3 sends mail.. it might be through SMTP, which would mean there could be some latency and timeouts causing your pm's no tto arrive. |
