I always use Bose Quiet Comfort 2 when on the plane. very good noise reducing headphones. They are the best headphones i've ever used, i would'nt travel without them. Also 1 AAA battery lasts around 35 Hours. Not cheap at around £200 but well worth it and cheaper in the U.S. Good luck with your trip. |

a family memeber has the QC3 headset from bose, however he has told me that the new beats headphones perform much better and feel better on the ears. |

DZar wrote: does the in ear design become uncomfortable on long flights? That's a tough question to answer. The cheap ones with just the thin cover over plastic become very uncomfortable very quickly, but if you get isolating ones that have different ends to form a seal in your ear they can be very comfortable. The secret is making sure that you get the right fit. One of the great things about my Shures is that they come with 8 different ends in different sizes and styles so it's much easier to find the one that works for you. I can honestly say that even though the Shures are big I really can't feel them - I wear mine for a couple of hours at a time twice a day and often wear them in the office as well if I am just doing paperwork. |

I'm a fan of the Etymotics in-ear phones. I think they were one of the pioneers for that type of headphone. I use the Hf-2 currently because they have the mic and button that works with the iPhone. I spend about 3-4 hours a day with them in and find them quite comfortable. |

Here's another vote for Shure, as you also could see in the thread Roff linked to. |

I bought these 2 years ago and am quit pleased with them: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-110-Foldi ... 282&sr=8-1 They aren't very expensive, but they do the trick. I've worn them on trips to Europe a couple of times now, and even after 8 or 9 hours they are still quit comfortable. |

Funny, I came to this off-topic forum to post about headphones too... except I'm looking for a good set of in-home cans, for audio and home theater. I'll start another thread, and good luck with your decision, I don't have any experience with portable headphones beyond the usual crap that comes with my ipods. For what it is worth, from researching reference headphones, it seems that Sennheiser and Grado make some universally appreciated units, and I think Sennheiser also does noise cancelling units. I found these sites very helpful... http://www.headphonereviews.org/ http://www.goodcans.com/ Mark |

They come with a 2 year warranty and I abandoned them afterr the 4th set broke within the first 11 months of that 2 year period! |

so i decided to go with the beats by Dr. Dre (made by Monster).....i went to my local audio store and listened to many options, everything from Bose to Sennheiser,Sony, skull candy, and a couple of no names and i feel i got the best sound out of the beats(incredible highs and lows with deep bass)and plus they are compatible out of the box with my iphone. thank you to the breitling source community for informing me of my options and supplying great reviews. |

I've read alot of great reviews about Beats. I think the Dr.Dre branding has kept them from being more respected in the audiophile community, but the performance puts them in there with the best. Enjoy them. |
