I've had an "interesting" day today. First thing this morning, I decided to take back a couple Xmas presents that I'd bought people after changing my mind about them. (The presents that is, not the people!
) Anyway, in the typical way of the UK, a shopping centre near me obviously decided against salting/gritting the car park last night. So there I am driving out of the car park in the rain, oblivious to the fact that while the ground just looks wet (and the temp is +2.5 degrees C), the ground is actually just ice and slush. Turned the steering wheel, car goes straight on, no grip front or rear at all. Car turns sideways and with me shouting out loud, "sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t!", the car smacks into the curb front wheel first followed by the rear. Buckled front wheel, knackered front tyre, tracking is shot, AND as I just found out at the garage, my rears are also shot in terms of tread anyway, so I'm now staring down the barrel of a £600 GBP bill days before Xmas. 
I guess the rear tyres needed doing anyway, but the front wheel is entirely due to taking back to presents that amounted to just £40 anyway!!!! Typical isn't it.
