I had this done almost two years ago.

Mine were a b*tch due to my age.

I wish you a speedy recovery!!!!

I had mine removed 13 years ago, at the age of 18. So it's true then, that people in Europe/Scandinavia reach wisdom earlier than people in US?

Must be true - mine are still there and I'm very old - I was born in International Geophysical Year (which had nothing to do with the fact that I later became a geophysicist...)

Good luck Chance97 - we're with you on this one!

Good luck, chance97! I expect it's all over by now...

I'm 39 and never got 'em either. On a side note, a mate of mine just came back from the dentist yesterday and was discussing this very issue. According to this particular dentist we are at the age of a human evolutionary change; less and less people will be getting them. Apparently the wisdom teeth were required by humans when we were at the 'hunter/ gatherer' stage of existence. We're at the point now where they are fast becoming a thing of the past. Not sure if it's a load of bollocks, however, good news for your kids perhaps.

Well Im back! They were really late (about 45 mins.) starting on me so I had a lot of time to set there and freak out. When they finally called me I was really feeling like backing out and asked to consult the surgeon. He basically gave me the same answers as my normal dentist so I just said do it. It was only about 3 or 4 minutes after the IV went in and thats all I remember. I am still numb on my tongue and chin right now and am just feeling groggy. Hopefully this will be a smooth recovery. Thanks for all your good wishes! At least I have a good excuse to sit on my ass for a few days huh!

Withnail, that must mean that you and I are more evolved than everyone else on here

Good to hear everything seemed smooth Chance - you're talking normally anyway, no slurring in your last post

I had dry socket after three days. This meant revisiting my surgeon for another 12 days to get my sockets packed with a medicated strip. Glad it's all over with!!!

Nice one, Chance! I'd say that calls for a new watch! :D

Roffensian, could be because we're both Brits, but I won't say that... :brit
