Here's my other pride and joy. I am by no means an esoteric audiophile enthusiast who would spend more than a $1000 on a TT. I am quite satisfied with this one though. Built like a tank, and just like a swiss watch in its precision. They don't make them like this anymore. This is Dual's first direct drive model that debuted in 1974. Very quiet and stable: and still works like a train even 33 yrs. later. I am using the original Shure M91ED with it. I'm thinking of upgrading it later with either the Shure V15 Type III Supertrack Plus or the Grado Prestige Gold.

Nice Dual! I've got a 700 series dual of some sort too.. direct drive. Also has a Shure M91ED on it but its just sitting on the shelf. The Shure V15 Type III is good.

This is what i'm running currently running.. Pro-Ject Perspective with a Grado Prestige Gold cart:

Cool Pro-Ject! A purist's choice: Purely Manual/Belt drive/Massive Platter with Acrylic Base. Very Nice and very modern!

With that kind of table, I would go more than just a Grado Gold Prestige into the moving coil category and get you a phono stage preamp.

I had a Sumiko Blue Point Evo III high output moving coil cart... but i like the sound of the Prestige better. I might go to a Grado Sonata series cart at some point though... but all my money is gone to watches!! And i need a new CD player too.
