I have trouble trying to watch video clips online. I cant watch any clips without them always pausing every few seconds, its really pissing me off! Anyone have any ideas?

I have a relatively new laptop with a good broadband connection but alas I can't watch Archie seamlessly in all his glory! :D

Any hints would be most grateful.

Cheers

Andrew

Do you have the problem always or just occasionally? Do you use ethernet or wi-fi? If it is occasionally it can be so simple that the web is crowded, if you are on wi-fi, try another channel and see if that works :)

Thanks for the help! I'm useless with computers!

I'm using WI-FI and it seems to happen all the time, would it help if I plugged into the modem with the ethernet cable instead of wireless?

Not sure what you mean by trying another channel!

Cheers

It would, if just wireless is what bugs you.

Depending what type of wireless router you are trying to use there are different ways to log into it to change settings. For example if you are using a linxys router you just enter an address in your internet explorer and you can change settings and so on. In there you can choose chanels and security settings. Another feature is that you can name and password your router to keep others off of it and thus keep your connection faster. Another thing to look into is the fact that you might be connected to your neighbors wifi and get a good signal, but slow speed. If you are still having trouble you can send me a pm with the model number and manufacturer of the router and I will try and help you.

Something as simple as using a microwave or cordless phone can effect wi-fi signals. Where you position the router can also improve signals.
