Post subject:  Cheers to the Mods

I just wanted to take a moment to give a big hearty "THANK YOU" to the Mods - Roff and Driver. Both of you devote a lot of time and a lot of effort to this site, and to be honest, I have no idea how either of you do it. Patience is definitely a virtue!

In "real life" you can choose (for the most part) who you interact with on a regular basis. But that is certainly not the case with an online forum! Here, you have to interact with all sorts of folks - even the jackasses. Yet here you both are, day after day, offering your insights and advice, answering the same questions over and over and over and over again, keeping us in line, and in general, making this a more enjoyable and useful forum. And you ask for nothing in return.

So, at the very least, I want to say "THANK YOU" for your contributions. I know that I speak for the majority of members when I say that your efforts are appreciated.

Cheers,
Keith

Wow, thanks a lot for that Keith! :D I really appreciate it, and I'm sure Roff will too when he reads it.

To be honest, watches are a big passion for me, so in that respect it's not remotely a hardship being here and waffling on about watches with you guys. I used to be a member of a couple of other watch forums, but I arrived here pretty early in BreitlingSource's life and even then it was by far the most friendly place I'd come across, so I've always been keen to try and keep it like that. As a result this is now the only place I post (with the occasional dabble on PaneraiSource too, but at least that's still keeping it in the family!)

Anyway, thanks again Keith, and I'm only too pleased to make what little contribution I can to this great forum.

Thanks Keith, it is much appreciated.

Driver8 has been around a lot longer than me - he registered a whole 3 days earlier   and in those days it was a much smaller community, but still growing.

Since then it has grown a lot and like everything else there are always a few challenges to rapid growth. However I'm really pleased for admin that things are working out so well.

Like Driver8 I am a watch nut (if you hadn't figured) and while it is getting harder to track every post, and you will see a few more 'the search will give you an answer' type posts as we grow, this is still a very rewarding, and educating place to be. I also haven't forgotten the technical articles - there's one on the equation of time in the works.

I was never particularly active on other forums, and since this place took off I don't tend to post there at all, although I still rely on Alan Trott's excellent WUS articles on a regular basis.

Above all though, posts like this make it all worthwhile - you say we ask for nothing in return, but in truth I get a lot back from this forum, and that's due in large part to the vast majority of the members, so it really should be...........

THANK YOU

I'd also like to thank Driver and Roff, this site helped me decide which Breitling to buy first. It also helped me decide which to buy second.

:yeahthat Nothing that has not been said already, but a huge thank you to the 2 guys who somehow manage to find time and patience to keep us all in line! For everything else too: Roff for his tutorials, Driver for his patient humor, Roff for his mistique over just what his collection looks like.... All contribute to making this the only forum I really go to on any topic, and one of the few where I have not told a number of mods which small area of my anatomy they can bathe with lusty kisses!

THANKS D8 and THE PROFESSOR

Hear Hear!!

I'll add my heartfelt thanks to those that have come before. Thanks to you both very much for your wit, time and above all patience; you do a great job monitoring this space. It's an awesome place to be.

Agreed, it can certainly take up a lot of your time.

I was a mod of an UK online gaming forum/community for 4 years until the back end of last year. The site (http://www.oaps.org if anyone is interested) used to take up an awful lot of my time, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

I take my hat off to you guys, keep it up.

Agree with all of the above.

This is absolutely without a doubt the best forum out there and is due mostly, if not entirely, to the even-tempered, intelligent, witty, patient and humorous moderation of Driver8 and Roffensian.

Thanks guys.

Many many thanks again guys.

While neither Roff nor I do this in order to get anything back (other than to share info, learn things ourselves, and generally gas on about watches!), to hear this from you guys is very very much appreciated.

Post subject:  Re: Cheers to the Mods

I blame the moderators and Breitlingsource because now I've become a watch (particularly Breitling) addict~

On a serious note, I have never been to another forum where the help was so genuine, full of knowledge, and plenty of excellent advice... particularly responses that come so quick~!

Sometimes when I post inquiries about certain watches I'm interested in, and although I kinda know its origins are doubtful, I ask Roffensian anyway and he scolds me like a schoolboy:

Roff: It's from South America~! What did I tell you???

Me:  Gees I'm sorry...

But to hear that kind of comment just shows that the moderators genuinely care about the craft, the brand, and especially the people that seek to invest and engage in the same passion we all share...

And to that I am grateful... :D

Me too, me too... :)

VERY appreciative of the moderators, owner, and sponsors here. They, and many other members here have already given me much help. Roff has been more helpful than I ever could have asked for, having come here to do research for a possible watch purchase.

Of course, now I have to also pin the responsibility on those here, that I came here to MAYBE buy one watch, and in the span of a couple months have now bought three FULL Lings, two more accessory straps, and a co-pilot module.
