Evening all, motoring along with the house. All the wiring was done over the weekend for lighting, power, network and 5.1.

All the cabling will be going back to the understairs cupboard, this is where the sky box, amp, bluray and the home networking equipment will be located.

Floor joists are in


Every gap you see in this pic will be filled with glass, this has now been ordered and should be here within two weeks.

The original doors have also had a good sand now and I think they look great, can't wait to get them hung again.

Very very nice! I browsed through the whole thread and it looks awesome! Keep up the good work!

Time for that weekly update again....
So close and yet so far, if all had gone to plan we would have been moving in next week - sadly this will not happen. The roofing contractor has let us down, this has limited the work that can be done really, on the plus side they are coming tmrw so we will be watertight by the weekend.

All of the internal / external brickwork is now finished, including my favourite part of the build, the black brick 'cassette'

This is where the fitted ovens and fridge freezers will be located.


From the outside, will have glass to the top and both sides.

Still needs pointing doing (black also) but they've done a great job of the brick work, its solid laid brick at the top too- laid to a slight fall to dispense with rainwater,will get a pic of that at weekend.

The insulation for the roof and floor has been laid



Led downlights have also found their way here


Upstairs has been finished in timely manner, mainly due to the fact I've done it all myself!
Bathroom is done




And all the bedrooms are decorated and carpeted.P

Phew! Big update considering I was thinking not much had happened because of the damn roofer!
Still hoping to be in before the baby arrives, determined to be infact. Will keep you posted.....

Cross words were certainly exchanged to say the least!
It's so frustrating as i now have to put the plumber and the tiler back a week, and i hate to mess people around.

Spent the jubilee weekend decorating the hall stairs and landing, turned out pretty well I'd say.

Plaster boarding today, most of it done now - should be able to get the plasterers in over the weekend with a bit of luck.

Fantastic stuff Jim! You're going at a rate of knots with this.

Puts me to immense shame considering that in the last two years I've only managed to renovate the master bedroom, the en-suite, the master bathroom and half way through the downstairs toilet!
