LOVE THE VETTEs everyone! Jay Leno has some cool Vettes with short videos on his web site. I believe Jay is a watch guy too!

He's a cool guy and a true car nut. I ran into him a few times at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank. (They have car shows on Friday nights)

One night Jay shows up with a (then brand spanking new) GT40. Red with White stripes and parks next to our (shop car) Subaru which was Red with White stripes. The Subie was a beast with 1400 whp so he was VERY interested in it :) Who wouldn't love it a 9 second car on radials with full windows and interior! 3200lbs 4 cyclinder boxer motor. Yummy!

That is real cool that you run in to Jay from time to time; his web site is quite entertaining (just spent an hour watching videos when I should be taking care of work related stuff). Do you have any videos or pictures of the WRX STI (I made an assumption here) with 1400 WHP … DAMN SON, I bet it sounds like a freaking monster!!

Ive run into him in Burbank before as well, and he really is a nice guy.

A friend of mine once told me a story about his brother (or a friend, cant remember) being stuck on the side of the road with car trouble and Jay happened to be driving by and pulled over to see if he needed any help.

That's awesome. I'd love to just go volunteer at his garage for a while just to walk around and play a bit while admiring his crazy collection. :D

Z06 - You win

I've looked into a Z06 before but can't justify selling my truck, which I would pretty much have to do...

Then do not drive one! I made that mistake and look where it got me!

Haha, actually I have been thinking about starting another project car. I need to focus my energy somewhere and track days are always fun. My last few have been Subaru's as I love WRC :o

I might go the 350Z route as I have some connections in that realm that can set me up pretty well. 550 to the wheels and I'm happy :)

350's with less than 20 thousand miles can be had for $15k. Throw another 10k into it and it'll be fun ;)

Flynbyu,

Beautiful car and wife. I love the color combination and glad you waited for the 08 model with the LS3 motor.

In2Deep,

The new 370Z is a tough cookie to beat for the money and has potential. C6 Z06's are dropping into the low 40's these days and even a few in the high 30's from what i have seen. Depending on your budget and how much you would like to modify the car from the factory specifications, the C6 z06 might seem appealing. I need to get my little project car back on the road again this spring so I can get back to the drag strip. Its been 2 long years since i have been down the drag strip and boy do i miss it.

In2Deep, BoneDoc, Alex D, Flynbyu, and RJRJRJ:
Nothing like U Tube for some drag race videos of the Subaru (Jane’s Addiction tune is a nice touch on the one video)! It is amazing how much HP people are getting out of that 4 cyl boxer eng. these days.
Back to Jay’s web site and his 2002 Z06 which I see he pulled the OE motor and put in an LS7. I always LOL when he says in some of his videos some thing to the affect; “oh by the way here’s a burn out or well ok; just one burn out”. Then hammers the car down the road hitting the rev. limiter … Jay is the man!!!

I wish I had the budget for a GTR, Z06 or 997 TT type of car but I don't. I could certainly pull a STi or Evo X but I've already been down that road and wanted to go with a rwd car. Not too much modding mind you, I want to go all bolt-ons. Intake, exhaust, tuning, suspension and forced induction and I'm pretty much set ;)

Oh I also want to murder it out with chalkboard paint to have some fun with it too

I did test drive an M3 a couple of months ago and was offered $10,000 under MSRP. I liked it but am not too sure I should take on another payment with the unsure economic times we are in. I would rather wait another 6 months and gauge it then.

But youd surely have to go with the new model... Im assuming 10 g's under sticker was the outgoing one, right?
