Below is what I had before hurricane Katrina in 2005. A yellow 1978, L82 350, 4 Speed. I Had finished a 4 month restoration of the car just a month prior to the storm. My Vette is second from the left. This is the only picture I have left of the car because I lost most of my pics in the storm.

I now drive a black 2005 Z71 Chevy Suburban.

That is a crying shame!!!!!! Being a HUGE Vette fan (on my 4th) I think I might have left the wife and taken the vette out of town -- she could find another ride! :lol:

Why was it left in the path of the storm?

Did not evacuate I could not talk my wife into leaving, she would drive me nuts waiting in evacuation traffic, and not knowing what happened to our house or her business would drive her crazy. We had three vehicles at the time, the Vette, a Toyota Sequoia and the wifes F350 Crew Cab. We stayed in our house and lost all three vehicles. I tried to park my Vette in the hospital high rise parking lot, but I was not an employee I could not park it there. The insurance company actually paid me more for the Vette than I could have gotten for it on the auction block. Our house is 10 miles inland from Lake Ponchartrain and we did not think the water would get that far inland. Our house is raised 3 feet off the ground we had 4 feet of water in our first floor so right around 7 feet of water that far inland. Its now "water under the bridge".

Perhaps so, and my $1 mickey mouse quartz tells better time than my Chronomat, but that is hardly the point. It is a FERRARI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to see some other LX fans on here! You guys with the 300's should check out the LXForums.com if you haven't already. I've been over there since 05' and it's a great place!
