I didn't see either of these in my cursory scan on this thread, but I am a big fan of Paul Smith.
I must be the same size as the mannequin they use because it is as though their clothes were made specifically for me. If you are a skinny guy, I suggest you check them out. Not the cheapest stuff out there (a shirt will run between 80-120 GBP), but I would rather pay that than wear something I'm not completely happy with. Great suits too. The down side is, they are based in the UK so if you live in the US you have to buy it all online (if you are as particular about your fit as I am, I wouldn't recommend buying a suit online)

My other brand of choice is Banana Republic.
Neither brand has a recognizable emblem stamped on their clothes which I particularly like, and they are both known for quality (which is after all what it is all about).

Yeah I wear Paul Smith suits too. (My post was number 7 on page one of this thread which was ages ago!)

They're great, but I almost always have to get off the peg suits adjusted by a very good Chinese tailor I know.

Even the best suits will need some kind of tailoring unless they are bespoke. I can't tell you how envious I am that you have a tailor you trust. That has been a nut I've been unable to crack for years. It may be because my expectations are unreasonable, but I have had some $2000+ suits ruined by incompetent tailors.

This tailor I use makes superb bespoke suits too. I've yet to have him make one for me, but he's shown me a few that he'd made for customers and they are fantastic. Not cheap (obviously depending on the cloth, etc) but well worth it.

I'd love to get him to make me a nice two-piecer in Super 150 wool for those special occasions, but that'd be a "money-no-object" time! :?

I have a tailor ive used locally here that I was referred to. He has pictures on his wall of some people he claims to have made suits for, including Arnold Schwarzenegger. I took him a decent Hugo Boss super 150 suit and he basically took the whole thing apart and re-did it for me. It wasnt very cheap (about $250), but he claims its now the equivalent of a bespoke suit :) Next I think ill be going for a Zegna, imo, the best suit for the money.

Ha ha, great idea! :D $250 for a "bespoke" suit is great........... although I guess you still had to buy the Boss suit in the first place though! Not quite so cheap now!

Jeans: Diesel and Ted Baker - I have had both that have lasted me years (through college into the real world and I have been rough on many of them).

Suits: Burberry and Hickey Freeman - I only need suits for special occassions so I stay a bit on the higher end here.

Sport Coats - Burberry, Hugo Boss and Hart, Shafner & Marx - Wear one almost everyday, year round. Buy off season and you can get steals. 100% cashmere H, S, & M was $150 (including the tailoring) in August in Oklahoma. Now it did suck having to try on a black cashmere coat while it was approx 105 f outside, but a deal is a deal.

Dress Shirts - Burberry, Robert Talbott, Polo, Scott Barber - As recommended by my dad, buying nice shirts and dry-cleaning them every other wear (unless you spill on them) is the way to go. My Talbotts (approx $150 - $225) have last 4 years and are just now being retired. My Polos (approx $60 to $100) last about 2 years. The collars and cuffs seems to go out pretty quick on the cheaper shirts, but 2 years is easily acceptable.

Ties - Robert Talbott - Have/need about 10. Usually get one on my trips to Carmel, California at the outlet for less than $50 each.

Shoes - for dress, Cole Haan and Neil M. On my feet a lot, walk to work, so do not get cheap shoes. For casual, Cole Haan, Merrell, New Balance, Rainbow.

Casual Shirts - Ralph Lauren (tees and polos), Vineyard Vines, KU/Chiefs/Royals athletic gear (no jerseys, just tees).

Sweaters - Kuhl (check out their stuff, it is awesome), and Ralph Lauren.

Misc - Mountain Hardware fleeces and shells, Smart Wool (unbeatable) socks (for casual, dress, active, etc...), Revo sunglasses.

Overall, I think I stay on the upper end but do not have cloths that I do not wear. I appreciate the quality of nicer clothing and the fit and finish. Not everything has to be high end though. Logos are not a big deal, nothing larger than the typical polo rider (for Ralph Lauren) or the whale (for Vineyard Vines). Do not wear shirts with cuff links as I think thet are uncomfortable at times and would only wear them for special occassions. Try to shop as much out of season and take advantage of sales, but cannot always do so. I tend to shop at only a few stores in a few cities.

Most importantly, I now wear a Breitling Steelfish and love it. I have had it for a couple weeks now. Friends in town this week who randomly both received Rolex Datejusts for graduation (exact same model) and they both loved my Breitling.

Hugo Boss- Very affordable, decent quality, classic styling
7 for all Mankind- Very comfortable jeans....
Canali- Suits fit me very well with little alteration to sleeves
Joseph Abboud- Another brand that fits me well with little to no alteration
Ermengildo Zegna- Well made shirts & suits with unusual (in a good way) patterns and fabric.
