Very well said Tom and completely agree. Have not / will not say more as it would be embarrassing for Driver8 to have to ban both of us.

here's my favorite quote from that delusional piece of cr*p:
"4. A "simulation" for a 7.9 Richter earthquake was planned on March 20, 2012 in Mexico. In the same day, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake actually occurred. [5]. "

I rest my case.

I agree gents, hence why I have also stayed away from the more "tangential aspects" of this thread as well.

Ok you guys know I'm not a troll. The question I'm about to ask is a genuine one, not an attempt to stir up trouble.

I come from a country with tight gun control (Australia). Almost no one I know owns a gun. Australia has relatively very low gun crime and guns have very little role in our culture.

It seems to me that limiting the number of guns in a community and downplaying guns in the culture is the wisest way to limit gun crime.

Now I know that the US situation is more complex: the guns are already out there. But isn't that the best long term goal?

People talk about infringing personal rights but I certainly don't mind not owning a gun, knowing that my family is safe in Australia. It seems like a reasonable sacrifice to me.

With regard to the fact that criminals already have guns, isn't the best way to reduce that to reduce the size if the overall pool of guns?

Maybe I'm just a naive Aussie but it is a genuine question, unrelated in many ways to Boston.

Logical, but we are not always governed with logic here in the US. I've stayed away from this topic as well because it can get heated.

I'm glad that the suspect was captured last night, now I hope he receives the ultimate penalty.

Back to original topic, ran an organized 10k run yesterday and just before the start a minute of silence was held as a mark of respect to the victims of Boston Marathon Bombs, which was nice a nice thought for them.

I realize everyone has their own opinion, that's what makes the world go around. When you have friends and family in the same vicinity where these attacks, or anything horrible happens I guess it just hits close to home.

I have two young boys, 7-11. I could not imagine if one of them were hurt or God forbid worst by someone else's doing.
Again I apologize for being so touchy about this subject. The pic was from my friends apartment. She lives in the same neighborhood this all happened in. They searched her apartment, looking for the second suspect the day he was captured. Luckily she wasn't hurt. I also have two cousins that live in the same neighborhood.

This seems to have gone a long way from the original sentiments of expressing sadness and grief for the victims in Boston and is generating a lot of PMs to me.

Going to lock this up now and help us all to remember that this is predominantly a watch forum.
