I never said that you did. If so, please show me where. Others here did.

You cannot blame me if BMW is one of the top brands today, not only in the automotive world but industry wide. Even if, as you correctly stated, the two statements you quoted were not correct. But, as I said earlier on

And, as I'm fully entitled to my opinions whether others agree or disagree (your quote), the same is valid for those who prefer to drive Toyotas (or Lexuses but it is the same brand anyway), it's their choice and I respect it. But that won't prevent me from comparing the two brands.

I've always fancied an M5 but the running costs are horrendous. I know two owners of the current model quite well and they have both said whilst in the whole they are very enjoyable, they eat clutches at over £2,000 a time and are terrible to drive around town at low speeds and are not particularly reliable.

What's the point of buying/using an M5 if you only use 1st and 2d gear when frequently stuck in the traffic jam? :idontgetit:

And I know that taxes are horrendous for just entering London with such a car.

Funny you should say that because the guy I know with the M5 I drove the odd time also had a M-Sport diesel at his disposal and told me many times that if he had a tiring journey, especially with city driving involved, to take he would use the diesel! Funny really but unfortunately I am not lucky enough to find out or know for sure,

Well, I don't know how busy the roads are where you live, but unfortunately here in England (especially the South) it is seriously congested, and all of the good counrty roads around here are lined with police camera vans who will kindly take your picture for a large fee and also endorse your license for the pleasure!

It unfortunately doesn't make sense to own such powerful cars here anymore.

:yeahthat

It's really sad actually. Radars in Switzerland are flourishing like mushrooms after the rain. The excuse is safety but their real target is people's wallets.

They treat you worse than a criminal or a drug dealer. You get to spend time in jail (if you exceed the limit by 15 mph) where the drug dealer is out after a few HOURS. Even if it's 2 am and you're alone on the highway (except the bastard with the radar) you're treated the exact same way as if you drove at 100 mph in a school area.

Also, they've just introduced a new radar that calculates your average on certain sections of the highway (they have 3 for the moment). If it were in France, it would have been blown up.

Crime is up in double digit numbers but only because they're more cops allocated behind a radar than assuring the protection of the population. It's safer (for them  ) and much more profitable.

Few options left if you want to drive your car at full capacity: the highways in Germany (and not all of them) or the country roads in Greece. That's where I appreciate my 135i. No police as soon as you go out of town and no danger really. Country roads are practically deserted. You can even practice for the Rally Acropolis. You just have to know your car and the road.

I've heard that the Swiss bureaucrats are very anti-car.

They're worse than that (if that is possible). Being outside of Europe they have their own rules. And that does not concern automobile matters only. No wonder European adhesion was refused twice.

And we get to pay their salaries, on top of that. :guns: :guns: :guns:

That looks a load better as a production car without the camouflage.
