Exactly! 3-1 would better reflect the fact England have been well on top in the series

It hurts to say it, but i agree. I think Brad Haddin and Mike Hussey would be the only two Australian players that would make the English team.

Agreed, 3-1 would be a fair reflection of how each side has performed.

I'm sorry I'm confused here guys. Is this the same game/match/tournament/series thing that started way back in November?
Apologies from a dumb Yank.

It's a series of 5 matches, each of which is played over a maximum of 5 days. After 4 matches England has won 2, Australia 1 and 1 was drawn. The final match is in progress and is fairly even right now so may be headed for a draw.

Good day for England yesterday - they've definitely given themselves a good chance for 3-1.

Three wickets still in hand and only a couple of hundred runs behind. There's still hope!

I have resigned myself to five years of painful cricket watching and reminiscing about the last 20 years. I miss Adam Gilchrist so much.

I'm just wondering if the Aussie batsmen will be charged for match fixing along with the Pakistani's, It must be impossible to be that bad by accident

That's funny - but can't put all the blame on the batsmen when the opposition scores 644 in the 1st innings.

Hard to believe we've fallen so far but I think it's a really good thing. Hopefully it encourages the ACB to start from scratch, prioritizing their focus on finding players who are actually in form. What hurts the most is that England scored 3 tons in that fifth test alone. Did Australia score 3 tons in the entire series

Well done England. A comprehensive series win. 3-1 certainly better than 2-2.

3 tons in an innings if we are going to be strictly accurate  Heck extras had 23, a lot of Aussie batsmen would have taken that score!

Fair enough. It's not like we were going to have you bat again though

Good point on the extras. The aussies only really bowled well in Perth  Surprising how we got belted. To be fair, England blew a great chance to go 4-1 in the series, not that it really matters in the end.

For any Australians who feel like clutching at straws, it's raining here in Sydney this morning  . But it doesn't look like it has set in for the whole day.

Miserable capitulation by Australia in this match. 3-1 would be a very fair result (bearing in mind that Australia were dominant for the first 3 days of the first test).

Hopefully this delivers a much-needed kick to the players, coach (where are the people calling for his head, by the way?), selectors and everyone else involved. I must say I know quite a few Aussies who are taking some pleasure in this, having been put off by players carrying on in recent years. As for me, I'm no great fan of some of our team, but I still hate losing to the old country. :P
