I drive a BMW M3. 2001 plate, so just about about to be consigned to history when the new one is released for sale. Gonna keep mine for a while yet though.

Forced to be sensible - commuting 1,500km a week pretty much kills any car - so drive a regular Subaru Impreza - need the AWD for winters in Ontario cottage country.

Used to have a nice summer car - Jaguar XJS V12 but had to sell it - it grounded out when I tried to get it down the gravel driveway of our house the first time

I was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry.... untill last Saturday I got hit by an 18 year-old b*tch (who went thru a red light)...
So now my Camry is total...
I have to go buy another car today (for around US$20,000), any suggestions??
I want something with a V6, because that's the only thing I didn't like about my Camry (was a 4 cyl.)
Thanks for any quick response!!

Vanessa

Hope you are OK Vanessa - cars can be replaced, watchmakeress can't!!

If you don't mind US vehicles the new Ford Fusion is a lot of car for the money - the V6 version starts for only slightly more than $20k in the US I believe.

Wow!! I hope youa re okay too, Vanessa! My mom got hit by someone running a red light too.. it was some lady who wasn't even paying attention!!

I REALLY like the new Honda Accord.. its a VERY nice looking car. Another one that I really like is the MazdaSpeed 6. I'm not sure what the price of either is in the US, but they should be similar to the Camry since they are direct competitors. I dont know if you can get the V6 versions for $20,000.

I like the new Camrys.. they look way nicer than the old ones.

Thanks guys, I'm OK, just a little beat up....
I was thinking about the Honda Accord! I'll go and test-drive it today to see if I like it.
The Camry was very spacious, so I might just buy another one, depends on the Accord....

After looking at the site, i think the V6 Accord is a lot more money. If you want V6 more affordable you'll probably need to go Domestic. I'm driving my first domestic car and I think it will be my last.

Import V6 for $20k is going to be tough I think, but certainly can't argue against Toyota or Honda if you can justify the cost.

I'm glad you are okay Vanessa. Sounds like it was a horrible accident if your newer Camry is being totalled.

For $20K or less, you CAN find lots of good automobiles in the market place. You may even find some year end savings on a new vehicle. Rebates and incentives are good on remaining 2007's. Especially if you live in a large market, where inventories are good.

Thanks guys on the input!
I put a deposit down on a 2008 Camry V6...
It's a little more than we wanted to spend, but I guess that's how it always goes with car-shopping!
We just have to wait and see if the insurance is going to give us the full value of the '07 model...

Thanks again, and watch out at the intersections!

Vanessa

Not all American cars are bad.

The Camry, Accord, and Maxima are built in the US now!
