Hey,
Losing weight and getting fit can be made very complicated but it's actually a very simple process. You need to take in fewer calories/ kilojoules than you use up. How you take them in and how you use them up varies according to personal likes and dislikes.

Some general good advice is...
1. Eat loads of fresh fruit and vegetables.
2. Try to eat fewer processed foods.
3. Find an aerobic exercise that you look fwd to doing and then do it four times a week. It needs to be aerobic; weights may build muscle and therefore raise your metabolism but you will lose weight slowly. Running, walking, cycling etc are much, much more effective. Often doing that exercise with people helps to keep you motivated.

Like most things in life, keeping weightless/ fitness simple is the way to go. If you complicate it too much you end up giving up because it gets too hard.

Well said. Consume less calories and burn more. It's not easy, if it were, people wouldn't have fad diets every 6 months. I love fitness and I can give you 3 tips:

1. Sugar is the #1 way to drop pounds. Cut out as much as you can. Sugar hides everywhere....cereal, spaghetti sauce, granola bars, etc. Drink only water, pure iced tea, skim milk, etc. Cut out juices too. Fruit is OK.

2. Find a schedule of wind sprints that works....they do so much more than any other cardio. They crank your metabolism all day, but you have to go all out. Think 10 sprints of 75m or so. You can also complete them faster than jogging. Be sure to do these on sand or grass to minimize impact.

3. A little weight lifting will make a big difference. Muscle burns calories even when lying on the couch. Find a great protein shake and follow each workout with one. Often even start the day with one. Obviously it builds muscle, but protein will also keep you fuller longer.

Everything is hard at first but gets easier every week. Whatever you choose to do, it will become a habit after 4 or 5 weeks, you won't think about it. The problem is most people give up before that because of laziness or, disappoinment they aren't seeing immediate results. The results will come, just have realistic expectations.

Loosing weight in general.... stop drinking soda! I did that alone and lost 20lbs! Along with cutting back portions; that way I can still eat like $hit!
