I forget the show but Tanner Foust races again Paul Tracy with different automobiles....and in the one episode Tanner drives the e92 m3 and Paul drives the new Lexus ISF.... even though the ISF beats it performance wise in some categories, the m3 is still in a league of its own!

At the end of the day the Lexus is still a luxury Toyota! :yeahthat

When the CLS first came out, we checked it out at the dealership. I wasnt very impressed. Back seat is cramped, rear visibility is poor for both driver and backseat passengers. The interior was nice, but miles away from A8 territory. IMO, the A8 is superior in every level. S550 or CL550, and you might have a competition.

On a side note, the 2012 CLS550 should be out in a few months, so if youre in the market you should probably wait for that one. It looks like a 4 door CL.

Something about the CLS just doesn't do it for me...never understood why they would bother with that since they have the S series...plus significantly less than the S.

It was designed to be a 4 door that resembled a coupe. Long flowing coupe lines, but the practicality of a sedan. Considering that it costs a lot less than an S class, I can see where they were able to fit it in. Its inspired some imitators as well, so there seems to be something behind it. I just dont like the way it looks. The new one though...damn they did a nice job on it:

I Agree, that is a good looking car! Why MB made it still....I dunno I just don't get it

Bmw/Benz/Audi all are nice cars but once the warranty is up , you better run ...

I have owned BMWs for the last 30 years and I didn't encounter a single problem. From the 318i up to the 540i I've had 16 different models.

Believe me, once you've driven BMW you don't go back, they're years ahead from their competitors, so I can hardly imagine driving anything else, especially with what is coming up

So you have had 16 models in in 30 years so that doesn't to equate to them being in your stable for very long . Thats a Bmw every 2 years assuming you buy them new. My friends all drive Bmw/Benz and all say they are great until the warranty is up. My buddy has a 06 750 ,and he has dumped over 10k in it to keep it running . My 03 Lexus has 92k on it and I haven't sank a dime in it other than oil changes and shocks. I happen to be a big Lexus fan ,and you happen to be Bmw fan, both are great cars, and it all comes down to personal preference. Some folks like Breitling Some folks like Rolex , and some people hate both. I have always been a m3 fan, those are ROCKETS ON WHEELS!!!

Maybe the E46 version, but the latest version is too heavy to wear the M badge properly.

The new 1-series M coupe sounds like a winner, tho.

Won't make me trade my current car, tho'. Life's to short to not drive a Ferrari.

Ive got a Lexus and a Benz (RX and SL). Funny that you mentioned that about the Lex. Ive got about 60K miles on the Lexus, and all ive ever done was get the oil changed and replace one rear strut.

The SL is still under warranty and only has 25k miles on it, but its been in the shop numerous times for repairs, a few of which would have cost thousands of dollars each.

Of course the Lexus is a much simpler car which should have less problems, but I think just about every published reliability report out there speaks for itself.

I agree with both of your statements.

However, how do you put your family of 4 + luggage for a weekend in a Ferrari? But with, for example, an M5 Touring you have Ferrari-like performance with more comfort.

If not faster: http://www.bmwblog.com/2011/02/03/video ... s-224-mph/

There are lemons in all brands, but so far I have been pretty happy with Lexus. I don't see myself straying to another brand. I used to be a big Acura fan but whoever they hired to design there newest models needs to be canned. The TL looks like its smiling in the front ,and laughing in the back. Poor body design have turned me off, and the Honda cross tour " Holy Shi7 " talk about ugly.
