Hahahaha 'is Otto still alive' haha

Otto, congrats on finishing, glad to hear it went well. That's quite an impressive run.

Thanks guys. Yep, I'm still alive, feeling pretty sick today but very relieved I don't have to do that again! That was my 7th ultra marathon (none of them anywhere near as extreme as the Badwater though) and I'm convinced it will be my last.

Anyhow, it was all for a good cause (my team raised $5500) and I finished, so there's no unfinished business there to make me go back. I really do appreciate your thoughts, and I think now I'll try to go and find where I left my sanity

I have to say Otto, that while it is very easy to tease you, it is a heck of a sacrifice that you have made not just with the physical and mental effort of doing this, but with all of the hours of training that you must have put in preparing yourself.

It was an incredibly generous and selfless act that you and everyone else raising money for charity made. You have my respect and admiration.

So which bit hurts the most?

That achievement deserves a hell of a lot of respect, and I doubt you can still say you are a 97kg lazy lawyer.

Well Done.

Ian

Roff, thank you for your very kind words, and thanks again to all of you.

Ian - hard to say what hurts most, out of quads, hamstrings and calves. At least it's all muscle pain, my joints seem to have come through relatively unscathed, and I managed to avoid taking any tumbles. Plus, I've stopped feeling unwell, so now I can finally have a beer or two :D

Then I can get back to looking at watches and normal service will be resumed. :cheer:

Just stumbled across this one - congratulations Otto!

Sounds like a real challenge, enough to make me stick to futsal twice a week. :D

Wow, I missed the updates on this!

Almost 20 hours!? That's must've been sheer hell Otto. Many congratulations and that's a heck of a way to raise money for charity mate. You've got my admiration there, no doubt at all. And all the more so that you weigh about the same as I do! I'm 95kg (210lb) and 10kms on the nice flat treadmill is more than "adequate" for me!

Hat's off Otto - a great achievement.

Well, you're friggin nuts, but congrats on that accomplishment. Especially since it was for a charity, good job.

I ran an 8k with my wife and I wanted to die, 5k is my max, I prefer to pick up heavy stuff and put it back down numerous times, screw running.

Ha ha, yes there have been a few beers consumed in the last couple of days! I'm giving myself the best part of a week to enjoy without having to worry about what I eat and drink, going back to training etc.

roman, I know what you mean. Normally I'm a boxer and I think I'll stick to the gym for a while, it's more enjoyable than running for almost a whole day and night!

Thanks again guys.

I can't think of anything that I want to do for almost a whole day and night. And I mean anything. Congrats again, go buy yourself a reward. :lingsrock:
