I just love we get off on tangents on this forum! LOL. So much fun.

One thing that nobody can dispute, nothing drives like a german car (when they work). Even my 5000 lb VW drives like a sports car on stilts, especially in winter.

 Yeah I did feel bad going total off-topic here, but then I realised it was your thread anyway and you were just as bad!

And yes I completely agree about the handling. That 740 Sport of mine was well over 2 tons in weight and yet it handled like something much much smaller. I'm now looking at the BMW website at the time as here!

If I had to buy a car tomorrow (and I don't thankfully), I'd be looking at the Audi line-up... simply gorgeous designs. I think they have the best designers in the business right now.

The first year I had my 2000 bemmer, actually more like the first week, brand new off the lot, the cooling system went and almost blew the engine. We know stick to Infiniti and Audi.( EX35 and Q7) Can't complain,

Our experience with a '99 323i was just that... a money drain. The most unreliable car we have ever owned. I hope yours treats you better than ours did.

Wow...I am sorry to hear that. I own a 2000 323i and it is 10 years old now and literally the only problem I have ever had with it (knock on wood!) is the exhaust cam position sensor failing, which is not usual for any car. That cost me $80 and I swapped in the new one myself in 10 minutes. Other than that, it has been an absolute dream car. Completely flawless. If the new BMWs weren't so darned ugly, I would not hesitate to buy another one. My wife has owned an Allroad for 1.5 years (bought pre-owned with 30k miles) and already we have had more issues with it than my car.

It is strange how the same model car can yield such completely different experiences. I guess the quality control just isn't what it should be.

We used to joke and say our car was built during Oktoberfest. My brother-in-law has an '03 325 cabrio, and it is flawless too, like yours. Go figure.

Alas, no. But I could when I lived in Pennsylvania, when I took these pictures.

I was traumatized for weeks when I had to remove my euro plate.
