As you can see from my last post, I have been gaming (online and offline) for several years.

I think the whole hoo-hah about that level is a bit much. It has been well publicised, it has the option to skip it (with warnings about what it contains) and the game has an 18 rating (or the US equivalent I assume). It's a game and if I want to mow down loads of pixels in the shape of civilians on a game on my PS3, I will

That's pretty lame if that's the reason why they're saying it's controversial. It's been perfectly cool for me to mercilessly cut the throats of Nazis in their previous games, but now I can't act like a CIA operative and wipe out a bunch of Russians?

BTW, got the f*cking red ring of death today on my Xbox and their customer service SUCKS. I'm sending it back out of principle, but seriously considering getting a PS3. My Xbox wasn't even 18 months old and the fact that they've been having this problem for 4-5 years now is absolutely crazy.

I think that the real point is you're not killing Nazi or Russian soldiers - you're mowing down Russian civilians.

I love this game. I was playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 until this came out. Did anyone else pre-order the new Call of Duty Black Ops?

I am not sure if it'll ok since they've made a TON games in the last few years, so it'll be hard to top Modern Warfare.

i really wanted to get into playing this since i was playing COD world at war before. but when this was released i just didnt have the time to get into it.

Yessir- I normally play COD MW2 on PS3, but I also have it on 360 to play some friends that kept bugging me about playing them on 360 since I already had 360.

My handle is "OsearyDrkoulias" on 360, and "OsearyDrakoulias" on PS3. I'm really not a insane gamer, but some nights, and weekends back home from the office.

EDIT: Black ops is coming out in about 1.5 months, but I pre-ordered it for PS3. I'm really not sure if it'll be decent. the videos on youtube made it look pretty good.

It _REALLY_ pissed me off how they ripped out dedicated servers and the console for the PC. Totally 'consolized' (read: ruined) the multiplayer experience. Sorry ps3 and 360 owners, but those game lobbys and matchmaking systems absolutely suck compared to being able to pick and chose the server you want to play on.

A good deal of the multiplayer experience is finding a server with a nice low ping, a good community with admins kicking cheaters and 24/7 racists, and skilled people who use teamwork - not being thrown together with a bunch of random idiots every time you want to play. I know you can join as a group and friends but its a clunky process...

/rant. sorry lol. I could go on for days on the state of gaming and how consoles are negatively impacting it but I digress. I do hear dedicated servers are coming back for the new cod, albeit they are trying to make money off of it. yay.

I only play on consoles, but... I'm so sick of all the racists in the game. Its ridiculous. Such morons.

Even with dedicated servers you still get this, but each server is kind of like its own community with its own rules, which usually include no racism and they'll ban you from the server. Problem solved. Also applies to cheaters. Combine that with low pings, higher player slots, and customized settings and maps, and you have a great gaming experience.
