I have played guitar for the last 20+ years and prior to that I was a drummer for 6-7 years in school.

I have had lot of different gear over the years but the current ones in use are:

Ibanez Jem (blue sparkle) electric

Guild DV52 acoustic

Line 6 Spider III practice amp

I am not in a band, just play for fun. My musical range is all over the map but mostly 70's to current rock (although my mp3 collection swings from rock to country to mozart to big band to 80's on hit wonders)

Artist that I concider influential in my style of playing: Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Vito Bratta, Nuno Bettencort, Clapton, and recently I've been obsessed with Don Ross and Andy McKee. If you've never heard of them, search on youtube and check them out, they have a unique style that is pissing me off (hard to pick up)

My biggest musical highlight was recording a single (my own song) and getting a letter of intent from a European small label a year later. I never did anything about it, just framed the letter with the CD as a momento.

So thats my basics, what yours??

I've been playing guitar since I got a plastic Beatles guitar for Christmas in 1964! :D

Currently play bass (and guitar on the odd number) with my '60s/'70s rock/pop covers band The Strangers http://www.myspace.com/themancstrangers

Here's the set list for tonight's gig.

Set One
1. Already Gone
2. Get Off My Cloud
3. Cocaine
4. Black Magic Woman
5. Knocking On Heaven’s Door
6. Another Brick In The Wall
7. Come Together
8. Road To Hell
9. A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall
10. Comfortably Numb

Set Two
1. Wipe Out (segue into…)
2. Crossroads
3. The Last Time
4. That’s Entertainment
5. Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)
6. Get It On (Bang A Gong)
7. All Or Nothing
8. She Sells Sanctuary
9. Wishing Well
10. Wild Thing
11. You Really Got Me
12. Jumpin’ Jack Flash

Encore
Honky Tonk Women

I think I've got more guitars than watches! 6 strings include a Les Paul, Strat, Variax, Pacifica, Tanglewood and my main bass is a Carvin plus a Yamaha as back up. Guitar amp is a Fender Princeton and I've a small Ampeg and a Behringer stack for the bass.

My advise to anyone is get in a band and get gigging. It's much more fun than playing alone at home and you could end up getting paid to have a night out!

Hey thats cool. I like a lot of the songs in your play list, expecially the Cult, Van Halen and Pink Floyd.

I have been looking for a old (late 80's early 90's) Ampeg head. a 140SC. I remember hearing one of those hooked up to dual 4x12 cabinets split apart and ...damn was it sweet. Of course it might not sound as good NOW, but I could dream. Pretty sure it was a tube based head.

I really miss playing with others. I am completely self taught and play by ear adn so I need to feed off others once in a while to spark my creativity.

Tuba player here. Have also played piano, clarinet and trumpet to a fairly decent standard.

I'm from a family of brass players. My mother's side of the family are exceptionally musical and very talented. My great uncle was a Professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London for a number of years and is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished musicians of the 20th century on his instrument. I didn't really understand how good or well known he was until I told a new trumpet teacher of mine when I was about 11yrs old and his jaw hit the floor!

I've been drumming for about 16 years. I was in a small local band, we did all our own recordings; made a Demo cd and EP.

I played the Alto, Tenor and Baritone saxophone and the tuba all in school. I play the guitar and drums now, which I've been playing for three or four years.

Play guitar, have a couple of Ibanez. Also compose stuff using the computer... easier and cheaper than dealing with, you know, real people :P

I play in a local band, and with an experimental electronic music collective. Basically, anything that can get me free beers 8)
