Yeah if you're happy to run the gauntlet of high fuel bills (which if you live in the UK is nothing new anyway), there are some superb bigger-engined beasts out there for peanuts.

I was looking at a BMW 645Ci the other day - couple of years old, lots of Sports kit on it (seats, suspension, etc), less than £15K GBP! That's a LOT of car for that kind of money.

As I said before, most people here in the UK, run a mile from used cars with bigger than 2 litre engines. Certainly 2.5 litre is the max most will entertain. Personally I've always liked the big stuff - the largest I've had is a 4.4 litre V8 - and it's great because people let them go for next to nothing (relatively speaking).

One thing I never worry about is gas bills. My 5.7L Hemi is always thirsty. Though the lifted Jeep never got better than 9mpg

That's probably because a 10 litres of petrol/gas is probably cheaper than a cup of coffee in your part of the world Mario! :?

Very true, at least it was when I bought the truck a couple of years ago. 8)

We had a large spike there for a while, but still nowhere near what you guys pay.

Holy...

I can definitely see the benefit of buying luxury cars just a year or two old, especially in this market. I'm pretty picky when it comes to colour combinations and optional extras though.... :?

^^ same here..i am very picky...we got an 08 bmw 335 coupe that was built to our specs.

white with saddle leather interior, medium wood trim, 19'' wheels, comfort access, pdc, sport, paddle shifters....
if ur not going new then the trade-off ( $$$$ of course) would be worth it to find a CPO

From my Subaru days ;)

80hp would be a welcome addition. It puts M3's to shame

it may put an m3 to shame in a straight line once chipped but there is so much more to M products than that.

have driven a bunch of BM's recently as im looking to replace my e46 M3 and even though std 335i is as fast ish in a straight ine its just not the same beast and no where near as fun or exciting to drive.

my advice is never buy an M car as unless you can keep buying them or get something betterits hard to have as much fun for the money.

M3 in uk RRP £55-60k
911 Carrera 4s £80k +
etc

and the 911 isnt even that exciting well not £20k more exciting.

dont know what to buy now.

my M is fast, handles like a dream, sits flat and grips so well, live the e46 controls layout its so set up for the drive, hand on the gear stick and i can adjust loads with minimal movements.

I did get a chance to test drive both. The M3 was certainly fun. It was offered at $10,000 off of sticker.

Corvette's are my favorite, had two my last one, a yellow '78 L-82, was destroyed by hurricane Katrina in my garage. Have not replaced it yet. The BMW's are very nice and the M3 is a favorite of mine. Maybe after kids tuition, building a new house and a new Navitimer I will be able to get one.

Thank you In2Deep,we are pretty much back to normal. I had fun with it while I had it. Had to put everything into perspective after the storm. My wife has told me for the past 22 years that I have expensive hobbys....I told her after she gave me my first Breitling as a present this past Christmas that she just gave me another expensive hobby.
