Ok guys I am having a little trouble deciding...This was my first choice....http://www.tumi.com/alpha/wheeled-delux ... uter-case/. I think thats the one at least...However, as of now I am not traveling a ton so I thought about just getting a simple brief that holds a laptop for now and leaving the wheeled bag out of the equation. I can always buy that down the line and use it when I travel. Anyways im kind of stumped, here is what I think I want...

Hardshell black leather breifcase
-black inside if possible, with nice compartments including a compartment for a laptop.
-nice quality (No more that lets say $1,000) I would preferably like to spend under $500 for just a breifcase.
-Tumi has a hardshell but its almost $2,000 and its not even leather so I think thats out of the question.
-Also and this is the tough part...I would like it to have an optional shoulder strap (I dont use them much b/c I figure carrying it is a good workout but when I do want to use one its always nice to have.)

Any help would be great appreciated..here is kind of an exmaple of what I am looking for but this has a tan inside and no strap and no spot for a laptop but its just a visual in case my description was kind of confusing. http://www.overstock.com/Luggage-Bags/A ... dd06dc9a.2

If you guys just want to help me with brands to look at that would be okay too. Thanks guys!

Sincerely,

Garret

Garret, With Tumi you can never go wrong. My wife and I have about eight Tumi items from suitcases to my everyday 'man bag' I carry in my car. We have never had a problem with it at all and it can really take a beating. My wife has the silver Tumi suitcases and after many vacations its still looks and wears great. You won't ever regret Tumi for the money its well worth it.....wow I just sounded like I work for them, maybe I will call them and ask to be a spokesmen :o

agreed. I own a few pieces of Tumi gear and love them! At this time though 2,000 for their hardshell briefcase is too much money and I think the rolling piece is uneeded. Any other ideas Rick or others?

I'm not sure either, but no harm in asking. Her name is Adrienne and e-mail on the site.

I carry my laptop every day in a TimBuk2 messenger/laptop bag. Rugged, durable, comfortable, and it doesn't scream "I have an expensive laptop in here!". Plus you can choose them in whatever colors you want.

If you want to be pointed in the right direction for nice briefcases, send archie42 a PM. He'll be able to give you VERY detailed information on the best breifcases that money and taste(!) can buy and also send you a whole bunch of cool photos of them as well.

That's a very nice piece Roff. Would you remember what that cost back in 2009?

outstanding workmanship.

Run by a slightly (nicely) crazy person in love with beautiful leather goods.
well known in Vienna for his perfectly pleated Khaki shorts (Robert claims his knees are the sexiest in the world, a rather lonely standpoint, but quite eloquently defended).

You might also want to check this:

www.vittoriaipavoni.com

A friend of mine ordered some items from them (for him and for his girlfriend) and he was delighted.
