We can delete threads (although we very rarely do that), and we can lock them, but I don't think it really warrants it at this stage guys. To lock it up would be to stifle discussion on what is a valid off-topic thread (even if it's an emotive one).

All I will do at this stage is draw everyone's attention to my previous post that suggests the need for a level of tolerance for wildly differing opinions on this one. Ultimately, the easiest way for a thread to go away, is to just not respond to it.
