Not sure why, but I have an inkling Dhalem might weigh in on your view. :)

Heh. You can't argue with Apple's skill at industrial design. But the current generation of Android phones has better hardware than the iPhone 4, and the OS can do a lot of things that iOS can't.

The latest rumors put the iPhone 5 coming out in the fall. The new Droid Bionic is supposed to be very cool when it hits.

As for email, if you use gmail, the Android is leaps and bounds better. If you don't use gmail, you should have your head examined.

Good point. I've only had bolds and curves in the last few years (on my second bold now, I seem to kill them pretty regularly).

Another issue for me is that I hate typing on touch screens.

I use my smart phone as a phone and an e-mail device, have had Blackberries for 10 years (when they weren't even phones) and see no reason to change. Haven't tried a droid, haven't tried an iPhone, and haven't ever been remotely interested in either - it's a tool that performs a function to the standard that I need and that's it for me.

Apparently I am therefore old, oh and I also need my head examined because I don't use gmail.

Doesn't bother me in the least :nana:

Can't live without my iPhone. I've had BB's through work and I've never been a fan, although they are more business orientated than the iPhone IMO. The Droid may be better than the iPhone, or equally it may not be..... god only knows! All I know is my iPhone does everything I need it to and a whole lot else besides, so I have no incentive or desire to change.

Been an iPhone user since it was launched.

But there's a BB function the iPhone can't replicate -- BB Groups. For the uninitiated, BB Groups are like mini forums where you share a chat room & a gallery of pics (for a maximum of 29 or 30 members per group).

While business discussion groups are the obvious use, in fact BB Groups are VERY well-suited to watch enthusiasts -- where you can chat about latest acquisitions, share pics, and especially wristshots. Not only that, BB Group cross international boundaries without additional cost (no International SMS costs).

For instance, my Panerai BB Group has Thai & HK members, in addition to those living in multiple cities throughout Indonesia. I am also a member of a Singapore based watch enthusiast BB Group.

This is in addition to a high school BB Group, family group, church group, etc, etc. You will find BB Groups are unparalleled at spreading breaking news, jokes, gossips & of course hoaxes

So I still use my iPhone as my main phone, but also carry a BB for social networking (especially here in Indonesia where 95% of my friends carry a BB), and my iPad for everything else.

I guess that makes me a cool old guy?

iPhone. Just got an iPhone 4 with the GF. Truly tremendous. Was a Bberry man for years but have jumped ship for the slick experience that is the iPhone.

I will say that communication ( email and messaging) is far better on the blackberry. The internet/media management of the iPhone is unparalleled. I'm willing to give this Apple thing a shot but am def open to jumping back to RIM in 18 months.

I have gone through several bad cell phones over the years. I now have the iPhone 4 and had the 3G before it. It really is amazing that I do not have any problems with my phone. It really does just work consistently. I recommend it to everyone, and no one has ever complained. The only flaw people mention, is the keyboard being difficult to get used to. After a week or so, I think most people become pros. Hope this helps.
