Howdy.

Just to be short, my brother was deceived to buy an item worth US$ 7,500, more or less, from ebay. It was his first transaction, so he followed seller's instructions (with perfect ratings, 100+) to made the payment via wire transfer. Found out that the item was fake.
Ebay couldn't do much about it. It has been a month or so. So in desperation, I'd need helps from members here that would know what to do to help to get our money back.
I have seller's personal & bank's info. They live around Basingstoke or Yorkshie area.
So please, if someone know what best to do, or could help, please PM me asap with your number so that we could discuss further on how to solve this. We understand that there'll be cost to get it done & we're prepared for it. All I want to do is to teach them a lesson.
BTW, i've tried to contact UK private investigators but they can't offer us nothing but personal address. So im hoping to find :popo: members here..

Thanks
Eric

Im not sure what your asking but I suggest you contact the UK police with the info you have they might be able to trace them, But I think that is your only course of action here.

I was asking for a best way to get our money back.
And I was hoping for assistance from UK members on how to deal with my situation. Cause im not familiar with law regulations there.

We're trying to reach UK police right now. But they haven't replied back yet.

I would suggest contacting the police near where the bank account is held, I will help as much as I can but will not do anything illegal

Hi,

As Sony says its a difficult situation to get into, and there have been previous postings on the site about eBay scammers, including one scammer who was possibly reading the posts on this site, while a guy was trying to get his watch back.

A couple of questions, was it a Breitling your brother purchased, if so you could choose the seller as a "favourite" in your eBay account and post photos of all his sales on the replica identification section, if they are all fakes then you can report them to eBay. At least give him a headache and if he moves along at least he will not take his 100% rating with him. As you will see in the Replica ID section many members do try to police the ebay Breitlings, and reported fakes are usually removed within a day.

Is he a private seller or a business seller, if its a business then we have a organisation called Trading Standards www.tradingstandards.gov.uk its a local government department and you need to report/complain in the region where the seller is based.

Sorry can not be of much help.

Ian

It's not a watch, but a women's bag that he bought for his wife. But turned out, it was a fake.
The seller was actually got a perfect rating (150 plus), but he/she was vacuumed for over a year from the last feedbacks.
Well, turned out UK police gave a good respond from our reports. They promised to send detectives to watch over his house & activities. and once they received our formal reports & few proofs, then they can take actions. I'll keep updating. Finger crossed...

thanks guys,

Good news.

But $7,500 for a bag, phew, you could buy a decent watch for that.

Another angle would be to report him to the tax people as if it was a Chinese fake bag he almost certainly did not declare his earnings.
One question how do you know it is a fake bag? Does it have serial number inside or something? My missus got a LV from LV dealer here in Singapore that was S$2500. But there are second hand shops selling used bags at about S$1000. Mrs says they are fake but counterfeiting is not allowed in Singapore so a shop selling fakes would be really risky.

Basingstoke or Yorkshire? The two are about 200 miles apart and one is a town, the other a county (or collection of counties to be precise).

I used to live near Basingstoke and my mother owns some property there. What do you need to know? I can't guarantee help or anything!
