I like how he just says the F word casually while doing the interview...

If you like Slash you have to read his book, aptly titled "Slash". Very cool read.

:yeahthat That he definitely is.

I had the pleasure of seeing him play as part of the original Guns 'n' Roses line-up on their world tour back in '91 at Wembley Stadium in London. Awesome doesn't even begin to do it justice!

Just one more reason for me to hate you  Too bad I was 11 in '91, my Mom wasn't cool with me going to a GnR show. Did it start 3 hours late? He was just playing in Norfolk, VA, the day after I left to come back to Iraq, what a bitch.

Cheers!

They definitely started late - it wasn't 3 hours (they obviously had a bit more respect for the fans back then!), but late enough to get the crowd into a frenzy. It was the "Use Your Illusion Tour", so it was all their better earlier stuff from Appetite, Lies and the new (at the time) Use Your Illusion albums. Great stuff, and LOUD doesn't even begin to describe it! My ears were ringing for days afterwards!

I just remembered they were support by Skid Row (remember them!?) and Nine Inch Nails. Great stuff, but I agree with your mom that it wouldn't have been a concert for an 11 year old. Some of things I saw going on in the crowd......... Certainly a bit different to when I was back at Wembley the following year for a Michael Jackson concert!

I was at that same concert Driver8 - one of the best Wembley experiences, although Kid Rock / Van Halen / Bon Jovi in (I think) '95 was pretty good too. Unlike you I was old enough to be there too

Well Driver8 has some interesting tastes in music, so that doesn't surprise me, but I would not be found dead at a Michael Jackson concert. I do like the pun though Ian - intended or not.

Ahhhhh, that good old MJ concert was fantastic! It was before all the "allegations", so at that point he was just this amazingly mysterious character, and the show was absolutely unbelievable. Never seen anything like it since.

Yeah I guess seeing Jacko a year after G'n'R is bit unusual, but I have a hugely varied taste in music. My iPod is pretty eclectic to say the least!

There you go Roff and Driver8 I was at wembley working a spot light that night, then had to do the whole tour around Europe and suffer it most nights lol.Trouble was Axel would keep the audience waiting every night up to three hours which made our job harder having to load 15 trucks after the gig to drive all night to the next one.Having said all that it was worth it what a sound, pity he couldnt sing without autocues dotted all around the stage,he wasnt good at remembering words lol :cheer: :cheer:
