Anyone planning on making their way to the show this weekend in Chicago?

http://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/mose.html

My first time in Chicago for this event and I'm looking for a little insite for those who might have attended before. Any tips or tricks to checking this one out? If I'm the first, I'll be sure to report back to you guys.

Well, the girlfriend and I went on down to Navy Pier to check out the show. I took some quick snap shots with the cell phone. None are particularly great, but it was a beautiful day so I figured it was worth sharing a few. :wink:

@ GZGym1 - do you work in the sciences? That might be the only way I can help you out. Chicago is the Midwest Mecca - you have to make a pilgrimage at least once.

@ RICKS - I've not experienced the full brunt of the winter. I moved here in February at the tail end of the madness. This year will be a different story I'm sure.

Here are some better shots from the days events:

I just need to make a chance Rick S. Chicago would just be nicely located for me to different places I visit frequently.

@Ian- I am currently in purchasing/sales/marketing. Really would like a full-time purchasing/buyer/procurement role.

I always loved going to the Chicago Air Show. It's one of the things I do miss about Chicago...but I don't miss the winter. Since I moved to Florida I have developed a new slogan "You don't have to shovel sunshine"! I do miss the great diversity of fantastic restaurants and ecelectic food.

I'm sorry that I missed this post. In the future, please feel free to PM me.

As a resident in the city who lives only blocks away from the lake, I've found several places to enjoy the show with a great view and away from the crowds :)

Lived in Chicago for 12 years. Winters are brutal. Summers humid and hot. Chicago has 2 perfect days a year - one in the spring and one in the fall. The rest suck.

But there's a lot of fun to be had there. I used to go to the air show every year. Get there early, find a spot on the sea wall. Amazing views.

I used to work in the Standard Oil builing (now the BP building I guess) right on the lake. The views of the air show were awesome form their too.
