Depends on what kinda time you're looking for...

If you like good beer there are three places I would suggest:

Map Room : Cash only and no food served there but there are TONS of great beers and nice people.

Beer Bistro: In the West Loop. Good food, better beer. Bartenders there are super nice and won't hesitate to offer a suggestion/sample for your next glass.

Hopleaf: Best Belgian beer bar in the city. They have some incredible brews here (some that you can't get anywhere else in Chicago). The mussels and frites will knock your socks off.

As far as eats are concerned:

My favorite deep dish is Lou Malnati's.

I'd say to walk around the Millenium Park and the Mag Mile, but it looks like the weather is going to be miserable.

Hope this helps!

Enjoy Chicago and don't be shy! People around here are super friendly (unlike Phila/Boston/NYC people I'm used to)

GAME ON!!! Done that a few times as I lived there for 14 years.

you have not experienced Chicago food unless you have an Italian Beef. Portillos is awesome but try Mr. Beef or Al's Beef. We are going back in a few weeks and are making sure to have multiple beefs as we can't get many good one's in SW Florida

Pizza: Unos, Lou Malnottis, Due or Ginos...all great just be willing to wait in line.

Dick's Last resort in a ton of fun! Kind of a spoof restaraunt with good food. Waiter's tease and make fun of the patrons all night.

>>>Ginos<<<

Mmmmmm. I lived in the Chicago are from '71-'83, including High School.

One of my favorites is long gone - The Blackhawk. Are The Berghoff and Chez Paul still there??

The Berghof closed at least 6-8 years ago, but not sure why. It was always crowded and the food was great. I loved that place. Never heard of Chez Paul.

I just spoke to my sister today who lives on the NW side and was tellingher about all the Chicago food we paln on eating...she just laughed and remarked on how fat we will be after a few days there. I really miss the food there, FL food sucks!
