This may be old news, but I have only just received an e-mail for the first time and given that a lot of us use Paypal........

I got an e-mail today claiming to be from paypal saying that my account access had been restricted because they couldn't validate soem of my contact information and providing a link to validate.

The two give aways that it's a scam are that the e-mail claims to be from Paypal but the actual domain is paypall.com and if you mouse over the hyperlink it was a domain that had nothing to do with Paypal.

Just a heads up for anyone who sees it, I assume that it's a phishing attempt.

I got that one shortly after I paid Steinhart for the first LE. Fortunately I believe everyone is a scammer so I just deleted it.

Roff,

Did the email begin with "Dear paypal member" or did it have your real name? The scammers usually start off with "dear member" because they dont know our real name (at least up to now). Please confirm that they didn't mention your real name

That's correct. Valid email from Paypal -always- starts off with a salutation that includes the real name of the user associated with the account.
