Nice beer snake by the way! Those have been banned here now, along with proper beer and everything else.

That's terrible Otto.

I'm sure beer snakes & proper beer will be around as long as SABMiller are sponsoring Test cricket here. The sponsors even bought everyone in the ground (18 years or older) a beer when Ntini took his 1st wicket. This was Ntini's 100th Test.

Tell me about it. We only get light beer, because people here can't seem to behave themselves after drinking full-strength beer in sun for 8 hours...

Sounds like it would be worth coming over to SA next time Australia's touring!

Congrats to England for the win at "the last outpost in the British Empire". You outplayed the Proteas in every aspect of the game. South Africa's heroics in Oz last year now seem a distant memory.

This loss must go down as one of the most embarrassing since readmission.

That was a great win. Managed to see a fair bit of play in this test and apart from the 9th wicket stand, it was a poor performance with both bat and ball by SA.

The guys on Sky say Durban has traditionally been a winning ground for England but Cape Town is not. We'll see next week.

Strange to think that just 12 months ago, SA were top (or nearly top) of both the test and ODI tables. The fall from grace has been rapid.

Well done to the lads for hanging on to the end  All to play for now in Jo'berg. Colly & Bell giving it the Boycott treatment  A couple of years ago we would have been having an early lunch, all out in two hours.

Your guys seem to be getting better at that. Yes I'm thinking of Cardiff last year...

Another very tense final session - but this time it feels like a loss for us as I'm sure it feels like a win for England's fans.

There's only upside for England now. A series draw if they play badly, a series win if they draw the last Test, and surely an end to a few Saffers' careers should they win at The Wanderers.

The Proteas don't have a very good record in Jo'burg of late. We lost to Oz there a year ago, were bowled out by India for 80 odd not too long ago and lost the last series to England there in 2004/05 when Matthew Hoggard took a dozen wickets in the match.

At the end of the day if you can't take twenty wickets in a match you don't deserve to win :(

Sums the game up in a nutshell!

Fact is, your bowling attack isn't that good, or maybe have just not bowled as well as they can throughout this series.

Two average sides with nothing much between them.

A SA win in the last test would probably be a fair end to the series but I expect Strauss to play very conservatively with a draw being his prime objective.

Yip, our bowling has left a bit to be desired this series while England's bowlers have been able to produce the goods when they've needed to - like in Durban. There's much talk of a "result wicket" being prepared at The Wanderers so I'm sure a dull/exciting draw is not on the cards this time.

Agreed Sharkmouth, there is not much between our two teams at the moment. Actually, I don't think there is much to choose between any of the top Test playing countries currently.

Day 2 and day 3, very poor umpiring from on field and off.
S.A batsmen cheating, (they know when the ball hits the bat and should walk )

Very dissapointing veiwing.

Looks like a draw for the series so I'd say that's about right.

The referral system is proving once and for all that Daryl Harper is a crap umpire.

Hope he looses his test status asap.

Well this match has not gone according to plan. Congratulations to South Africa for a comprehensive destruction of Englands batting. England have been let down by their South African born guys, with series averages of : Pietersen 25, Strauss 24, Trott 27, Prior 22 all four have been between 39-48 previously. Hopefully a lot of hard work will be done between now and Brisbane in November. If we had lost this series 3-1 i don't think we could have complained too much. Only Collingwood, Bell, & Swann have come out of the series with much credit for the England team.

Yes, terrible umpiring but also terrible England batting. I can't really complain at a drawn series.
