Guys, just a personal observation here (although I think a few others have seen it too), but I've noticed there's been a lot more posts lately that have had a certain "viciousness" about them. Quite a few posts have had an air of almost personal attack – I'm sure we all know in which direction most of these posts have been directed – but I for one would like us to try to rise above that a little.

This isn't me speaking as a moderator : I'm just speaking as a long time member who enjoys the camaraderie of the place and general inclusiveness of the forum. Very few places are as easy-going as BreitlingSource (in fact I can't think of anyone, other than blatant spammers, who has yet been banned), and because of the desire to keep this as a "nice place to be", I think we should probably be leaving things such as attacks on people's weight and/or physical appearance at the door.

As I say, I'm not looking to enforce anything here (and I'm certainly not about to start removing people's posts just because I don't personally agree or anything) : I'm just raising the point and making a polite request to suggest that we try and keep things civil and grown up. Thanks!

I really like this forum, I do not contribute as much as I'd like to but I suppose thats beside the point in this thread. This is, as mentioned, the most "polite" forum I frequent watches or otherwise, and I must have missed the drama associated with this post, being in Bulgaria for a month but I would hate for this place to lose its easy going atmosphere. I look foward to coming to this forum. The other forum I frequent, which you can guess if you look in my sig, is too uppity for me. I feel that most people there are trying to one up each other and show off as opposed to B-Source which is laid back and chill-ax. Just my 2 Cents..

Honestly, this forum is the friendliest and most flameless of any other free forum to which I have belonged. The only other one that comes close is a stock-picking one that one must pay to belong to, so there is a selection effect (not that investors are intrinsically more polite, just that anyone who has paid money to be there wants to make sure their investment in the site is worthwhile).

I hope the trend D8 is observing does not continue.

I'd say it's been a lot more like the good old days recently which is great IMO, although maybe it's just that some of the "characters" who manage to incite vitriol haven't been around so much! Either way, it's all good!

Driver8, I won't mention the thread that led me here, however I think you can probably guess.

To br549, BoneDoc and Driver8, thankyou for your welcomes in "The Thread That Shall Not Be Named"

I have enjoyed lurking on these forums and have to agree with most of the posts above, this is indeed a relaxed yet informative forum.

Having had maybe one (or more) too many Taliskers since my last post, I will refrain from going to much further, lest I embarass myself, however I would just like to point out to mpthomas that Australian beer, so long as you choose the right one (most definitely not the mass produced stuff, ie XXXX, VB et al), can be excellent!!! Admittedly we don't drink it at room temperature, however when room temperature is closer to 40degC than 4degC I feel that is warranted. :D

Cheers,

Zaphius

I would like to apologize to all members of this forum, what i said to that man was un called for and really harsh. I'm not that type of person, I got a little carried away i realize that and it won't happen again. I admit that i'm one of those 3 or 4 idiots on this forum, and i don't post all that much, and when i do usually its something stupid. I got a lot of good info. from the mods especially Roff, but D8 is like the peace keeper and i respect that, I promice i'll keep my wise ass comments to my self. This forum is the most help full forum for breitling watches and that's how i keep my watch in good health. So thanks to all the members and again i'm sorry, will do my best to act like a grown up. :lingsrock: :lingsrock: :lingsrock:

Hey Vadim, no need for apologies at all my friend! :D It's all good. 'Tis the season to be jolly after all!

Everything's good with the forum and we're all just one big happy family again  , so this thread can be put to bed.

Happy Xmas all!
