Well it took a total of 4 days but I finally got my new timepiece. It's been one that I've been waiting for awhile now and couldn't resist the price, although I probably should have. It was purchased online from a website called worldofluxuryus.com. Being skeptical at first I asked the salesman, via email, if it came with all the usual paperwork and if everything was more or less kosher with the watch. Insisting that it was I still had my doubts being that I had called George from Govberg, who came highly recommended for his pricing, and he couldn't touch the price I got it for. I would like to include though that it is the older model Airwolf with the turbine dial face and not the runway strips, my personal preference is the turbine blades anyways so it worked out dandy. All the paperwork and serial numbers match and is correctly filled out, besides the date of purchase which is nice cause I can fill it in myself. That is correct right?

I included some photos of how it was shipped and packaged. It was shipped, insured, tracked express post via UPS for $55 which isnt bad I think. 4 days. I can't include any macro shots of the watch yet because I promised myself I can't wear it till I get my CPL done. Alittle motivation perhaps.

Flyboy,

Did you get dinged by customs? $55 shipping for a timepiece coming from the USA is a deal. I've not only had to be mindful of the exchange rate but also the customs fees. Unless there is something that I'm not aware of.

Congrats on the timepiece and although you have it as motivation I bet your not going to be able to hold out.

I did get dinged $280 CAD in customs which is just the GST charges. I was expecting it though since I told him to declare the full value of the watch. He said that he can't insure it for full value and not declare the full value so I preferred security over price. He does give the option though.

You'd be surprised how much willpower I actually have. I bought my Emergency as a gift for my PPL and finished it successfully without wearing it.

WOW. If their watches are on the up-and-up, their prices are incredible. Just checked out the "specials" section for Breitlings and was shocked by the prices.

Yeah, that is pretty good. I don't know how anyone can touch them - those prices are the best distributor to retailer prices that I know of. Unless they are from some kind of bankruptcy / closing, or they are refurbs the AD must be selling at a loss by the time that costs are factored in.

Although thinking about it a bit more........

I wonder how many of the 'specials' are actually available. Wouldn't be surprised if they were out of stock and that when more came in they were a higher price.

Congrats! Sounds like you got a real deal!

Is it a single or multi-engine CPL you're going for?

Whizzler - in Canada the cpl is generic. To get multi it's just a rating added on after the fact. But since I don't have my multi rating it would be a single engine cpl. The only time where it matters is if you want a single engine or multi engine ifr rating.

In regards to the watch they had to check if the watch was available so that's why you inquire instead of directly purchase. At first there wasn't a blue one only a grey model but Steve was able to track me down a blue faced one. Remember though it's not the pro2 model it's the pro so I guess that justifies the discount. 55% not bad I must say.

Agreed.

There are a couple of pieces there that are starting to call to me. Doesn't look like the pricing on the regular ones is anything special, but those 'special' deals are sweet if they can actually deliver.

whizzler - nice work! You can get your atpl without needing 1500 hrs?

Roff - ya man that good navitimer is an eye catcher or the gold and blue Evo. I wish I had more spending money. :S

Well we need 1500 for a full atpl, but until then we're granted a 'frozen' atpl, which tells people we're fully qualified, just low on hours/experiance etc.

Are you going for the full licence? or just flying for fun?

Whizzler - I want to have it for a career but it seems like it's getting stagnant. How long have you been in the industry? You fly in the UK? My flight instructor came from there to learn here and still works here. He doesn't care much for the UK and he was in the royal military.
