Actually this question goes out to everyone. I've been toying with the idea of picking up a Navitimer World for no other reason than the fact that I absolutely love them and was wondering if current and past users can share their thoughts on the legibility of the dial. Every time I get a chance to see one either in person or in a picture I try to see how fast I can tell the time compared to other watches were it only take quick glance. I know the color of the dial makes a difference so in sharing your thoughts can you please note what color dial.

So did or does the Navitimer require a bit longer to read the time? If so did you get used to it after awhile?

P.S. when I say take a second look I don't mean being mesmerized or fixated by its share beauty as I'm sure most of us do on a daily bases.

its the same for me as any other watch. At a quick glance its looks like about 9.15 and at a detailed look its 9.15 and 40 secs there are times when its tricky to tell the time very accurately as with any chrono where not all min markers exist. In my opinion both the white and black dial navi are very readable. Hardest one is working out the exact min on my cosmo

I have a white faced Navitimer Montbrillant (with a black outer circle) and I have no trouble in reading the time. It is a busy face with the Chronograph functions and slide rule but then I like a busy face; the Navitimer is my favourite Breitling model by far.

Like anything it can take a little to get used to it but I wouldn't use that point as a detraction. One thing to note, the lume on the numbers is pretty good which makes reading the time at each five minutes easier than say in-between those points, depends how accurately you need the time, to the minute or close enough

Not a real issue (as I thought it might be). Your mind starts to ignore all the irrelavant markings on the dial except for what you really want to know... the time. If you are using the slide rule, you dont focus on the time markers.

I have a Datora with a brown face and would say it can be a challenge to read the time. Since I am now over 40 my eyes aren't what they once were... I love my Datora but for me it is more of a show or dressed up watch than practical one.

I've been having the same debate with myself concerning the readibility of the different dials. And, I too am getting up in age and the old eyesight is not what it once was.
I have compared the black and white World dials and for me the white dial wins hands down.

The World will also give you a bit of advantage over other Navitimers in that it is a bit larger in diameter at 46mm and as such makes the dial seem a little less cluttered.

My Navi World black dial is easy to read. I just wish
The hands were a bit longer and thicker but I can live with it.
BTW.... I love this watch and just can't take it off my
Wrist!!! I wear it all the time. All Navis are great but
the World's 46mm size was the clincher for me
