Details... I got my Hercules from a buyer on TZ. Got it last Monday. It's running slow about -6 to 8 sec a day. Before I purchased I asked about the condition and if it ran within the COSC standards and of course the seller said yes. I did see in the watch's service record that it was sent in 6 months after purchase to get regulated, due to running too fast. Anyway....the watch is 3 years old. Should one expect it to run more accurately? What would you do in my position? Live with it? Or what would others do? I love the watch a lot...just wish it ran as advertised. Buyer beware as far as that goes I guess. Also, if I took it in to an AD, what do you think it would cost to get it back within standards? Sorry, that was a lot.... Ron |

-6 / -8 seconds a day is the kind of error that could easily have been caused by a slight knock. Don't assume that the seller was lying when he said that it was within COSC specs - it could easily have been knocked during the shipping process. It's also the kind of error that can easily be corrected through regulation. In terms of how long / how much, well that seems to depend. In my case I take it to my AD and it takes 10 minutes and costs me nothing. When Driver8 wanted to get one done in the UK Breitling insisted on having sent away so he went to a Rolex guy who did it for a few quid (can't remember how much but I'm sure he'll remind us). In the US, I'm not sure that there's a set policy - the bottom line is that any AD who is also a repair centre should have a timing machine and a pressure tester and that's all that's needed to fix it. |
