Excuse my probable ignorance, but don't automatic movements have a large rotor? :?

Yup this is a Hand Wound Auto mate :lingsrock: Hand wind is the oldest sort of movement there is I think replaced by autos in the mid 60s unless I am mistaken,Im sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

The Cal 112 has a micro rotor. Discussed here

It's not a 'hand wound auto' (whatever that is). As Sharky says it's a micro rotor based on the Calibre 11 that was the first automatic chronograph to make it into a production watch (April 1969).

There are enough working ones out there that I wouldn't. You might end up with a bargain if it doesn't cost much to fix, or you could end up spending way more than had you bought one in better condition - no way to tell without knowing what's wrong with it.

To me, it's just too big a gamble.

Thanks mate my guess is by the seller not having fixed it himself and him being a dealer with many high end watches that its not going to be a quick easy fix so I think I will back out gracefully and be greatfull I am not stuck with something that is going to cost a fourtune to fix.
