Some may recall that I got a Steelfish from Amazon.com a couple weeks ago. Everything was fine, but the other day I unscrewed the crown to adjust the time and the crown came all the way out in my hand. Not good. So I called Amazon, and they said to return it. I shipped it back and they refunded the full price.

This time I ordered one from Govberg, but to Amazon's credit, they handled the return swiftly and easily.

Everything happens for a reason, You're always better off buying from an AD. Especially with higher-end luxury items. Even with Amazon, you never actually know what you're going to get. They just ship from various stores who pay to do business with them...so you probably had a Gray market watch. Now you'll have the full backing of Breitlings warranty. And I, as well as others can assure you George at Goveberg is ace's!

and thats why you don't buy on internet. Especially these days. With the way the market it, you should be able to find a very similar deal on a brand new one from AD no problem.

But the part of the story is that Amazon took the return no problem, no questions asked. A lot of AD's wouldn't do that.

Well, the AD would solve the problem no problem asked - it was a fault under warranty. They would likely fix the watch as their preferred option, which is understandable, but of course that's not an option for an online retailer without facilities - they have to swap product and then get it fixed when time is less of an issue.

Nice to have the option of returning for a refund. My SOH is going back to BUSA for the third time in 6 mos. The AD is very quick to get it to BUSA, BUSA sends it back with a new buckle and goodies but they can't seem to FIX IT! If I had bought the watch from amazon or Costco a different watch would be in the case as we speak.

After so many times you should be asking for a replacement, and not a repair. But then again, maybe all the freebies are worth it :lingsrock:

If you buy a watch, come home, try to set the time and that happens, an AD better replace it with a new watch and take care of this one on their own time. It happened before at my job and we took care of it. Generally, there is a 30 day return policy on watches, as long as they are not showing wear signs...

This was about 2 weeks after I got it and had worn it every day. I'm sure there were at least some slight signs of wear.
