I have recently purchased a "new to me" Breitling with 18 months left on the warranty. Is there a way to update the owner information with Breitling so they (BUK, BUSA?) are aware that I now own the watch and not the original purchaser? Not sure if it is relevant but I am in the UK and the watch was purchased from an AD in South Africa.

Unless it's an Emergency / Emergency Mission there's no need to advise Breitling - if you have the paperwork then everything is good.

Wouldnt you want them to know that the serial number is now assigned to you in the event the watch is stolen and brought in for service. I was under the understanding that there is a "Keep an eye out" for this stolen watch system in place in which the registered owner is notified. Or is this just wishful thinking?

It certainly doesn't hurt, but it's not required. Easiest way is just take watch and papers to an AD and let them handle it if you wish.

Thanks for the replies. I have just (within the last hour) collected it from my AD who has given me an insurance valuation for it and I am not keen to be without it much longer. I presume Breitling will update their records when it is sent for it's first service?
